Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

I almost forgot to mention that I believe so much of it has to do with YOUR attitude as well. If you allow yourself to become visibly frustrated, nervous, etc., the dog will pick up on it and respond in kind. If you allow yourself to remain calm yet firm, the dog will likely respond appropriately. Try not to become too frustrated; remember, this is a game to him and he is not doing it to spite you, much as it may seem that he is. Grin and bear it while tweaking some of the ways you train and deal with him and he will probably cooperate.

what capellalqyla said is totally true. The energy your sending out is important. Believe me everyone here knows that it is hard sometimes.

You are getting good advice here.
Check out this thread:

We have all been through this- it's maddening, but once your husky comes out of "the terrible teens" he will be calmer and more compliant.
Most of the time.

I agree to look up a trainer, that can work wonders.

Do you have a doggie daycare facility in the area? Playing with other dogs for a day or two a week could be really good for exercise/socialization/manners. There's a lot we as humans can do to exercise this breed, but there's nothing quite like playing with other dogs. When Kai goes to daycare, she plays all day and is drained at night (and because of this, perfectly behaved Smile )

I'm actually a strong proponent of e_collars, but definitely not in this situation. For one, he's way Too young. Some trainer will start as young as 6 months, but id recommend waiting to a year. It also seems unfair to resort to it for behaviors that sound like a fussy baby... he sounds confused and tired.

E-collars are meant to signal behaviors at very low levels. if you use it as just a correction tool, you'll have to use very high levels, resulting in the stereotypical dejected, depressed dog associated with shock collars. Its just not right for the dog.

I would ty some suggestions here. Tether him to you. Use a crate to quietly enforce quiet alone time, and use a positive reinforcement trainer to build good behaviors.
