I am at the end of my rope with Ms. Mishka. Great dog, and we love her, but she is still pottying in the house!!!! Ready to choke her (ok, not literally!)
I just don't get it. I have tried everything I can think of...washing carpets, using expensive enzyme cleaners for this problem....starting over.
She often has to go out in the middle of the night. Won't wake you up...just jumps off the bed. If our bedroom door is closed, her movements wake me up...if it is open, she will just go in the house and come back to bed! During the day, if she as to go out, she will just pace around or go to the door. If no one happens to notice this, she will just pee by the door, or hind somewhere in the house and go. Very frustrating. No UTI or anything like that going on. I even put her on a schedule to go out very often, and she will STILL go in the house. If we leave for a while, all the dogs go in the big outdoor kennel...she will poop and pee in there everytime. Regardless of how long she was in there. She will even poop (almost everytime) in the sleep quarters of the kennel. Driving me crazy.
If I leave her inside in a crate, for more than an hour or two, she will pee in her crate, sometimes.

What can I do here???

Sophie has the same problem and she's 2 years old (luckily she'll hold it at night in my bedroom now), i haven't a clue as to how to potty train her. So i'll be watching this topic for replies.   

My 2 year old Lucy took that long to fully potty train becasue when i rescued here at 4 months she didnt even know what outside was, so to her inside was the potty. She occassionaly has accidents in the basement during the day if i get stuck at work late. I ended up making outside only to potty and we played inside until she got the idea of it.
I dont really have any other good advise for you though, just wanted to let you know you're not alone.

I'll be watching this too! Nicky is almost two and will occasionally have accidents. I was so mad, the other day she came in the livingroom where I was laying on the couch and peed right next to me on the couch! She gave no warning or anything! It makes me angry, because my one year old Brandi has been potty trained since 6 months old and I don't understand why Nicky keeps doing this. Very frustrating!

All of my dogs do that. You need to be constantly watching her and if you're not she should be crated. She's technically telling you she has to go by pacing, that's what Zoey does. If we ignore her, she'll go in the house. Same with my boys.

I have housebroken 4 dogs in my life, not an astounding number, but the "method" has also worked for others I've shared it with. Storm is the only dog I've ever crated. The other three learned without crating and were reliable in the house within about 4-5 weeks.

It helps if someone is home during the day. If no one can be, then crating or isolating in a smallish, preferably tiled, room while you're gone is essential. The laundry room worked for us. A radio will help. Dogs prefer classic rock and older country and western.

When you're home: Take the dog outside every two hours. Even in the middle of the night. Do not come back inside until he eliminates. Give lavish praise when he does. The point here is two-fold. The dog learns that eliminating outside is desired and becomes unaccustomed to doing it inside the house. Doing it frequently also helps eliminate his opportunity to make a mistake. They are in many ways creatures of habit and avoid doing things that just don't feel right. If you catch him doing it in the house, immediately take him out and do not not come back in until he finishes. Praise him lavishly when he does. The every two hours needs to last a couple of weeks. After that, back off to once or twice overnight. Eventually, he won't need to go out until you get up, assuming you don't sleep until 1pm.   

If you're gone, crate him. If he eliminates in the crate, make it smaller by placing a large box or similar item inside to take up space. Remember to take him out before crating, and immediately upon returning. Lavish praise when he gets it right.

A lot of it simply about building habit and eliminating the opportunity to do something undesired.

Just curious, but do you guys have fenced yards? That your husky can safely find their way to if you leave the door open? Keyto will take herself out and Digger is seeming to be almost fully trained... BUT if I dont take him out (to hold his paw ) once it is dark - he will have accidents... im pretty sure he is afraid of the dark!

Not for me either. I've housebroken 8 dogs with zero problems, I work from home and have almost an acre fully fenced in. She goes in and out as she pleases, sleeps dry throughout the night and just occasionally has accidents (maybe 1-2 times a month). I monitor her water intake, praise her for going outside, scold her when she potty's in the house. She knows she did bad, because she will tke off running and start crying before I even scold her. It's the weirdest thing.

Maybe they are just rebels    ( couldnt think of a better reply) im stumped. Only other thing I can think of is how deep is there attachment to you? (Talking to everyone with the problem ) My huskies are usually no more then 6ft away from me at any given time. The seem to like being right in my bubble. Maybe if your dogs are like mine and follow you everywhere... they dont want to leave your presence to go potty?

I treat and praise with potty training. You go outside you get praise and a special treat. Was able to train my rescue in about 4 weeks using this and Loki was like 2 weeks. Only time we have potty issues in the house is if they have upset tummies and can't wake me or we are at my in laws. For some reason they like to poop in their house. Think it has to due with their dog but that is off topic.
