| So, I had no idea this would happen but when we took Layla to puppy socialization class this morning we walked in and who did we see? Her brother Atticus (formerly Sirius)! We had no idea he'd be there. It was great to see him again and meet his new "parents." He seems to be doing great, and he and Layla seemed to instantly recognize each other. During free play we couldn't keep them away from each other; they were in their own little worlds together. Just thought I'd share. I'll post a pic of the two together as soon as my husband sends it to me. |

| I did tell them about it and mentioned that Cortnie and Caoimhe are here as well. It was both our first week at the class so we didn't get to exchange info yet. I'll try to get their info next week! It was such a pleasant surprise and such a coincidence that we both showed up at this class on the same week. I really want to find out where they live so we can schedule play dates. |

| So, it doesn't really show them interacting but here are Layla, her brother Atticus and some of the other puppies they played with today in class. The doodle was probably the friendliest of all the dogs. She was loose and wiggly the entire time and seemed to love meeting everyone, dog and human. Layla and Atticus were a little more wary since it was their first class, but once they saw each other they didn't care about anything else. I did notice they were also the first dogs to show signs of tiring out toward the end of the class. Atticus even fell asleep at his parents' feet! I wonder if this is a Sibe thing that as puppies they need more rest than other dogs? It seemed odd to me since they're one of the breeds that has the most energy, at least as an adult. Just an observation -- any insight on this? Next week I'll be more conscious about getting a photo of the two of them interacting together! |

| We went to a puppy play group today too. Caoimhe went right til the end but passed out in the car and is still pretty mellowed out. She was the only husky there she played hard with a GSD pup and a golden but she wanted to play rough and another dog didn't really appreciate it! Lol is Atticus bigger than Layla? He was the biggest one out of the litter, wasn't he? |

| Layla sleeps a lot in general. I know she's a puppy and I've read puppies need upwards of 18 to 22 hours of sleep (?!) each day, but it seems like she only plays a little bit and sleeps a whole lot. Good for me when I want to get work done but reason to cause me a little concern. Otherwise everything else is normal except she also doesn't eat as much as I'd like. (We feed her 1/2 cup in the morning and 1/2 cup at night and she only eats about half each time. I give her treats throughout the day but certainly not a meal's worth. We have started feeding her outside her crate now and we don't add water anymore because we noticed she eats more when there's no water added and it's outside her crate.) Maybe I should call the vet and see what could be up, or if it's normal. She certainly does have times when she plays hard and gets all rambunctious for about half an hour and then goes to sleep at my feet. I'm not sure if Sirius was the biggest in the litter. He's definitely the fluffiest, though! He's still a cute little fuzzball. I'd say he and Layla are about the same size now. He's a little more talkative than Layla, too. I don't know if it's just her but it seems to be she's the quietest of her littermates for some reason! We barely ever hear a peep out of her, even yesterday when she was playing hard with Selena. I just want one little howl and I'll be happy! |

| And, of course, by Sirius I mean Atticus. For some reason I still think of him as Sirius! |

| Hmm.. caoimhe eats about 2/3 c of Fromm gold for each meal . She sometimes leaves a few mouthfuls at breakfast but always eats all her dinner. What times do you feed her? My girl barks so loud when she gets wound up. It sounds like an adult dog bark lol. Rachel said Geniah never shuts up either. Maybe Layla takes after Roxanne more than the others

| The sleepiness is totally normal. Evee plays for about ten minutes then sleeps for two hours. As she gets older she'll play for longer and sleep less. Karli still takes naps but they aren't as long or as often. Enjoy them while you can!!! As for the food, most huskies aren't like labs, they don't eat everything put in front of them. You'll find that she will skip meals and this is also normal. They actually eat less than what is recommended on most food bags. |

| Cortnie, we feed her a half-cup of the Diamond Naturals Extreme Athlete around 7:30 a.m. and then a half-cup around 6 p.m. She'll usually eat half of it each time. As I mentioned, we're now having to feed her outside her crate and not mix water in because she seems to eat more that way. She also doesn't eat everything all at once; she'll eat a little, then run around for a minute, come back and eat, run around for a minute, come back a third time and that's when I take it away. We don't leave her food out all day; it's only out for about 10 minutes at each mealtime.
Roxy, thanks for the reassurance on the sleeping! She does have bursts of energy at times and then sleeps the rest of the day. Besides that and the eating, everything is pretty normal. Maybe she's just one of those picky eaters! I'd hate to have to switch her to another food right now if I can help it since we spent all that money on the 40-pound bag of food. I'd also like to avoid mixing anything besides water in but may have to (example: like most dogs, she LOVES Red Barn) if it turns out she isn't eating enough. |
