| I was wondering if it was normal for huskies to play non-stop all day long and how long before the two start to calm down?
Daisy and Titan are siblings so they are both 1.5 years old. They play really rough too with biting at the neck running around the house at full speed and we actually have to keep an eye on them because it looks like they are actually going to hurt each other. We did take them to the fenced-in backyard but they don't actually run or play around, they just smell around.

| To be honest it sounds normal to me. My two are siblings and have always played that hard. It took us a while to get used to it and there are times when it still worries me, but it's typical husky play. Mine are 4.5 years old and the cooler weather we've been having had them running around like crazy yesterday and today. Don't count on them 'calming down' any time too soon. I think the average is around 7 or 8?? |

I think the average is around 7 or 8?? Titan is my sisters dog, so Titan doesn't live with Daisy and us but we went to go visit them for 4 nights and they played so rough that Titan accidentally bit Daisy and she started bleeding at her feet (this was the 3rd day we were there). So, I got really worried with them fighting and playing so rough. I think that Titan got annoyed by Daisy and accidentally bit her a little too hard because when they were playing in our view Titan would mind his own business and then Daisy would come bother him which caused him to get annoyed. Titan is more calm than Daisy. After we patched up Daisy, she was fine and still wanted to go play with Titan but we put them both in their crates for the rest of the day. I'm concerned because we plan on getting a second dog and if they play non-stop all day really rough then I'm scared someones going to get seriously hurt again. |

| I have two that we think are siblings and though they love to play they have learned to calm down in the 9 months I have had them but we had to start seperating the rough play and still keep an eye on it because my Bella gets angry and really starts going at Jasper then usually ends up bloody and gashed up since he defends himself well. Not sure of their ages still though but like I mentioned we are working on a calm command to get them to seperate cause I am tired of breaking up fights, I have children around and another dog, and I am not always the one there so I dont want anyone else potentially bitten pulling them apart. |

| Huskies in general like to play a lot rougher than most other breeds. As long as they let go when the other one yelps, you have nothing to worry about. I would imagine it would only turn uglier when one yelps and the other is still hanging on. Also, since they were litter mates, I'm leaning towards the idea that they would be able to play with each other a little rougher since they would have been playing together all their lives. |

| Not huskies, but my first two dogs were about 7 months apart and they played rough until 3-4 years old. Then, it happened less and less. Since they were both young, it got rough and they knew outside really quick as when they started inside they were sent outside pretty quick. Now Loki and Lexi play, but Loki does appear to adjust his play style to her so he isn't as rough. They do more chasing, etc. Yet, if he is around younger dogs who will play rough, he will go into full on play mode. I think dogs learn how to play with the ones they live with and the styles that work. You just need to watch that they act like magnets going back to each other, stop when one yelps, and keep a eye on them. |
