| Subject: Is my puppy excessively calm? Sat Nov 02, 2013 6:24 pm | |
| Hi guys, I have been reading this forum for months now and I have finally decided to register since I got my puppy 3 days ago (Yay!) I will present ourselves decently later if I am able to get some pictures of him. By the way, I am Javier and he is called Storm, and we live in Madrid. He is very small, just 9 weeks, and he comes from a reputable breeder (http://www.narizdenieve.com/) Sooo I know this is not the typical complain around here but... he seems too calmed. He has been great so far (No whining (almost) in the night, he learnt to go to the papers in just one day, not too destructive...) He spends most of the day sleeping and he is active when we play, maybay he plays for 5-10 minutes and then sleeps (Or just lay on the floor) for 30-60 minutes. The only time he gets totally crazy is when it is time to get some food haha. Is it normal that he sleeps almost all day since he is just a baby? Today when we returned home after leaving him alone (One of the first times we have done so) I have found him laying in my room, and he wouldn't even get up to say until some minutes later. He didn´t seem excited at all, maybe too calm. Do you think it is normal or could he be sick? I am sure it is nothing but better safe than sorry haha. Thanks in advance. |

| Welcome! Totally normal behavior for a puppy. They are growing like crazy and need their sleep. Savor it while it lasts, that's my advice! |

| Welcome! It's the calm before the 'storm' Also - my pup's dam was imported to the states from Cristal Stars. |

| Cool, nice to know that everything is alright I am sure I will make a new post in a few months asking if my puppy is too active lol I love Korra, so good looking haha. Storm is similar but with brown eyes. Today I am definitely making a presentation post so you can check him out. wpskier222 wow nice dog! It is a really good breeder too for what I have been told, it was my other option to get my dog. In fact I think both breeders have exchanged dogs sometimes haha. |

Game on is my pups grand sire as well, sire of Cristal Star's Supernatural. I had a feeling he might be in both their lineage. |

| Nice! I saw Player when I went to the breeder's for the first time, and he is impressive now at 5 years. According to the breeder all his descendants are pretty similar to him because he has very strong genetics. How is your pup regarding size? Because Game On is huge (I think he is on the standard's limit). |

| Very cute puppy. I think the first few days for most puppies they are calm and getting use to things.
Then, there is the off chance you just have a calmer puppy. My Loki is very calm at over 7 months. He has been pretty calm since I got him. He does have 2 dogs to play with and gets about 1 hour of exercise a day between walks, fetch, and other games. I was very worried about him when I first got him and it was my first post here too as I heard huskies are suppose to have a lot of energy. Yet, my vet confirmed he was healthy and just a calm dog. |

Well, he's only 8 months now, so he still has some growing to do. I weighed him about 2-3 weeks ago and he was 42 lbs (19 kg). I estimate he'll end up around 50-55 when he is done growing. His dam was on the small side. |

| He really looks very sweet and gentle pup. I would enjoy his calmness now for he might be too bouncy soon. Please hug that sweet little boy for me! |
