- Agreed. I have a Springer attachment I'm going to install on my bike but I don't plan to use it until later this year. For now we do walks/jogs, mostly in the woods.
As for eating everything in sight, the snow we've had this winter has been a blessing of sorts, because it deters Layla from eating all the pine cones, acorns, sticks, leaves, moss, etc. she finds. From what I hear, it gets a little better after a year or so, though I'm not holding out for much, haha.
Welll...Ami is about 19 months old - and still eats just about anything he kind find on the ground. I'm constantly hauling stuff out of his mouth on walks. I trade the crap for kibble - it may be working, yesterday he picked up several things and gave them up readily - instead of me reaching halfway down his throat...
I should try trading treats for nasty stuff. Layla will do anything for a treat! She's been finding and gulping banana peels lately. I have to ask myself who throws a banana peel on the sidewalk or even in the middle of a hiking trail?! There were TWO on the trail today and she got one off the sidewalk in our neighborhood on Monday.
Worst story of things Layla has eaten on a walk also happened today: Some people ride horses on the trail we were on and it was clear one had been by recently, as there was some poop on the ground. Usually Layla just sniffs poop and goes on her way. Apparently there was something extra interesting in the horse poop because she picked up the largest piece of turd and gobbled it down. I wanted to get it out of her mouth but couldn't get my poop bag out fast enough and wasn't about to go in there with my bare hands! Ugh! ewww I totally understand the crap eating..Samoa always finds her way to our cat litter box at least once a day because of my husband's carelessness at keeping the baby gate up to block it lol.she comes out with a nose caked with litter yuck yuck yuck |

| Eep! My parents have two cats and whenever we visit we always have to make sure Layla doesn't get near the cat food and the litter box. So many obstacles to navigate when we take her there, haha! |

| We're at 32 weeks! Layla's doing great after her surgery last week. In fact, she acts as if she never went through it! I take her on Thursday to get her stitches out. Her incision is healing very nicely, so I'm hoping that isn't too early for them and they don't tell me we need to reschedule. We're going away this coming weekend and I'd like to have her stitches out before we leave. I am glad she's been pretty mellow this past week, though I know she can't wait to get back to taking longer walks. For now, though, we've been giving her two to three 15-minute walks down the road and back each day. After her stitches come off we'll slowly increase until she's back to her usual 3-to-4-mile walk. Here she is today playing tug with me with her favorite toy, the long squeaky snake. Sitting pretty Super close-up! |

I'm so glad she's doing so well after her spay! They certainly are drama queens for every other little bump but a day after a surgery it's like nothing happened. Lol. _________________ |

It could have been the angle of my phone when I took the picture, haha. I'll have to measure her at the withers again; I haven't done it in a long time. She is definitely almost at full height, though. She's starting to look like a full-size Husky! |

| Thanks! She is growing into her ears, slowly but surely! She takes a lot after her mom in appearance. Her mom has slightly longer ears, so it's possible Layla will take after her in that regard, too. |

| lol so adorable. Do you normally leash walk her when she needs to potty? Anya used to refuse to go inside the dog park. I would have to leash walk her outside of it because that's how she was trained |

| Sometimes we leash-walk her and sometimes we put her on a lead we have in our yard (we don't yet have a fence around the yard, but we're going to build one this spring/summer!). Maybe she wasn't used to being untethered to go potty, though she will potty in the dog park no problem. I thought it was cute she kept waiting by the gate and we were scratching our heads trying to figure out what she wanted. Then it dawned on us: "Maybe she has to potty?" Sure enough, that was it, haha. |

| Layla's 36 weeks old as of yesterday. Here are some random pics! From a Boston Snow Dogs meetup this past Sunday. Some of the pups bikejored and we hiked with Jon and Kara (My husky Meeka on this forum) and their dog Meeka (the black and white husky in the background to the right). We had a blast and Layla loved hanging out with Meeka. Photo I took yesterday just to show size She's still small and light enough that Darren can pick her up. At around 30 pounds, though, she's getting pretty heavy for me! |

| Nice pictures! Although it's pretty sad that she's almost all grown up now... :c By the way did you see that Trigger and Roxanne's sister are going to have a litter? It's time to stalk photos and get puppy fever again. |

By the way did you see that Trigger and Roxanne's sister are going to have a litter? It's time to stalk photos and get puppy fever again. I know, it is pretty sad! Layla and Yukon are so big now! I did see that Trigger and Roxanne's sister Kuba have been bred. And there are more Kermit x Arrow pups to look forward to, too! Darren and I still stalk Rachel's site and can't wait to see it updated every week after the pups are born, haha. I'm also keeping an eye out on Kiana Siberians' site, as they have a litter this summer and one in the fall. I'm especially interested in the one in the fall, because we're on her waiting list for a red pup from that litter, if there is one. - Rocio_Caballero wrote:

| She's slowly getting there. Now the fur is just about half its normal length. A few more weeks and I'm sure Anya will be getting back to normal, too. |

| Thanks! I'm friends with Cortnie (Caoimhe's mom) on Facebook but haven't seen any photos of Caoimhe since around December. I wonder how she's growing up now, too! Layla seems a bit on the small side to me for her age (she's kind of short and weighs about 30 pounds now) so I'd be curious to see where Caoimhe's at. |

| Layla sounds like she is right around Nova's size, tiny girls lol. But yeah it seems as if she just dropped off the map all the sudden, and I was just curious if you'd heard any news, I hope everything is alright with them. I'd love to see where she is at now too, I didn't think that Layla was that small. |

| This will count for weeks 37 and 38. I haven't had much time to take new pics because of this temporary but very busy job! Layla's being an absolute angel with me at work, which I'm overwhelmingly thankful for, haha. Two more weeks until we're back to normal. On a recent walk with Darren, staring at swans Her first experience with a fan. She had been panting so I brought the fan out on full blast. She sniffed it a bit, then plopped right down in front of it and fell asleep, satisfied. |
