Hi all, looking for folks who have had actual experience with Seattle area Husky breeders. I did read the threads about how to locate a breeder, etc, so I will look into Seattle area husky clubs as well, however, I figured it would also be worth asking people on here if they've had positive personal experiences with any breeders around Seattle (but really the greater puget sound area and beyond).

For those wondering - I did originally intend to adopt but I have some unique challenges with cats...it's been all misses trying to find a rescue husky that I both like, is available, and good with cats. I'm not ruling it out but I'm going to start down the puppy route in earnest.

Cheers!

No one will judge you for getting puppy.

What are you looking for? A pet? A showdog?

Andrea Philips Poku Siberians is in Centrailia and has wonderful Siberians and a very nice breeding program. Adele Keyfel Maskarade Siberians is another one I would not hesitate to recommend in Yakima. There are some excellent breeders over here on the east side as well. Feel free to PM me Smile I can give you the steer clear list also Wink

We got Harry from Skyler's Siberians out of Lacey, WA. Would definitely go back. Harry was very well socialized with dogs and kids.

Pet! The only other thing I would mention is I want to get outside with bike/ski-joring when my pup is old enough (not sure how much lineage might affect that?)

You'll want a kennel that either runs their dogs or does extensive health testing. You do not want to end up with a set of bad hips because you didn't purchase from a responsible breeder.

Bodhi is from Syntari in Maple Valley.
He is a rehome, but a totally wonderful dog.
Jamesa Mauldin is the breeder.
I liked her kennel a lot.

I can also second Andrea Philips' Poku in Centralia.

I've been to both and seen their dogs.
Both women took a lot of time with me to make sure I found the right dog.

Oh yes I should have mentioned Syntari! There are a lot of really good breeders in WA and OR. Tovik, Tobotuk, and Tahluu are ones in OR I'd recommend. For running Siberians I'd go back to Tumnatki (Prineville OR) again or Dashing (Athol ID) any day.

Adele Keyfel (Mascarade Siberians) is either really close to or has a litter on the ground right now- Not sure if she had a full waiting list, but her bitch that she bred is a real stunner and quality lines. Adele and Tony are extremely breed knowledgeable people.

I've gotten pictures from a reputable breeder, and the dog I'm looking at seems to have ever so slightly crooked eyes (i.e one eye might be a little lazy). I may be getting a little insane here but this is a major life event for me and the dog so I'm erring on that side.

It's not severe as I mentioned but I noticed it. Is it normally for puppies around 5-8 weeks old? Will it clear up? I also just asked the breeder and will hear back soon but I would like second opinions regardless. I have the photo but dont know if it would be bad form to post it or not.

Thanks everyone, you've been amazing!

If you would like to PM me I'd be happy to take a look- If you don't feel comfortable publicly posting. But know there is really nothing wrong posting evaluation photos, constructive conversations about breeders, and even discussing pedigrees- trash talking is poor form though.

I think I know what you mean, almost as if the puppies eyes are pointing out or something? Or as if both eyes aren't looking at the same thing? I've noticed this a lot in husky puppies (those from good breeders included) and I think its a pretty normal part of development, especially in the 4-5 week age. I don't have a ton of experience, but I've seen that too. I wouldn't worry about it unless it's still persisting at 8+ weeks, I think by then the eyes should look a little more normal. Smile
