| I was out getting my Dyson and drove by a dog training facility. I have been thinking of getting Nanook into one as soon as I get my hours back at work in the next few weeks. I went in and was talking to the lady at the desk who was very nice but when I told her my dog was a husky she changed a little...still nice...just a little stiffer. She proceeded to tell me all about how his prey dive can interfere with his training, about jumping fences, about jumping on people...on and on about all the stuff that can happen in class and out of class because he is a "difficult husky breed" I do not know if she was trying to show me that they know about huskies and willing to work with him or if she was trying to turn me off from their facility.
Is this a thing that I will encounter a lot while trying to find a place? |

| Ummmm no, I have never heard that. I have switched around training centers and I have never once had anyone say anything bad about my dogs to me with them being huskies. When I told them they were huskies, there was never any if and or buts and they were welcomed in very quickly. Of course I made sure the training centers had high fences, and that all areas were husky appropriate but I have never had anyone tell me any of those things. I would not take my dogs there, and I would look around for any places in your area because the fact that they don't seem to know a lot other than that they are "difficult" leads me to believe they have no desire to have your dog there, and you wouldn't get anything from that facility anyway!
Although some of the things can be true, it sounds like she was kind of trying to scare you off or at least thats how I would take it if someone said all those things about my dogs without even meeting them. |

| I wanted to make sure I am not over reacting LOL..I wanted to get defensive with her but just kept it pleasant. The place looked like a place Nanook would have a blast at...tunnels, climbers, jumps and it was indoor which is nice to have in AZ but I will just have to keep looking. Thinking about I do not think he would do well there with all the fun stuff in the same room as the training. |

Aww, that does sound fun for him! I don't know my thoughts are a training facility is obviously supposed to train dogs, and when she starts saying that your dog is difficult and basically untrainable, doesn't give me the highest hopes for their services in general. But the more I think about it, although it doesn't sound like she stated in it the nicest way, at least she was kind of honest that she didn't think they would be able to handle it and you didn't waste your money. |
