So you guys have been hearing a lot about my husky Hatchi. If you haven't, he is a very calm husky. So once I trigger his "playful" attitude, he begins to nibble on my leg and get kind of jumpy. I get him in this mood by running around like an idiot or by putting something in his face and then running away. Obiously I don't have a very big problem with him nibbling (if I would I would never even start playing with him) but what do you guys think. Is this the correct way to play with him?

And just to be clear. He never has this "jumpy" attitude unless I want him to. Most of the day he is just laying down.

If its just playing I don't see anything wrong with it. We get Karli hyped up when we play with her and she has a great time.

If he starts to get too jumpy/too playful start doing commends. We've noticed that once that "trigger" goes he we get him to down then stay he stays to come down on his own.

Just my two cents, but I'd make going into and out of play mode a part of the routine as early as you can. Get them to settle and do a few commands and reward them with more play time. We have a bit of a problem getting Harry back into a calm state, but he's getting better at being able to turn play mode on and off.
