| Before I ask my question, let me give you a bit of info in regards to the situation I am in.
Meeka – Walks awesome on a leash, given with a gentle leader and slowly transitioning to regular collar. When we go on running/walk trails I clip her to my RW Slackline leash and her harness and she generally does not pull on it with the exception on down hills as I try to manage to avoid any rocks despite actually encouraging to pull all the way since I want to improve my times (no need to lecture me about running).
Abby – She was un-trained when I got her. Scared of traffic as her foot got ran over and her paw is still healing,. She is terrible, pulls like no other on harness and/or collar, however with the gentle leader, not sure what the trick is, but she feels more secured with it and walks like a dream, doesn’t even bother pulling. Working on sit-to-be greeted.
I have walk them with 2 leashes, and have had no issues besides the tangling of the leashes, however I would like a free-hand when walking, since my soon to be 5 year old son generally goes on walks with me.
So to my question… has anyone here used a Leash “Splitter/Coupler/ Y split” to walk two huskies with one leash and what are your reviews on them?
Note – Val, I seen a post you wrote on a Chihuahua forum and looks like it worked for you, given using it differently.

| I used it with Cloud and Yuki, they didn't like it. Cloud wanted his space and didn't like being right next to another dog so we just do separate leashes. Granted, I have a walking belt, so all the leashes come together at one point regardless. |

| There is a hands free belt thing I have been interested in trying out. I watch the Gone to the Snow Dogs Youtube channel and they do product review episodes here and there, and they are selling it on their site now.
Here is some links if anyone is interested in checking it out too. When I get it I will let everyone know what I think of it.

| Personally wouldn't go with that brand of belt as it doesn't look very strongly made, if you're gonna go with a belt I'd go with alpine or sass. |

| Just the concept of a hands free belt intrigues me. I may get a few of them to figure out which one I like the best, but this is where the idea originated for me so I thought I would share |

| I would not suggest using a coupler where training collars are involved, especially if you're using a head collar. If they were on a coupler and Meeka lunged for whatever reason it could cause serious damage to Abby.
I think a walking belt that you can attach one or both leads to would be a better idea. I walk my 2 plus push a stroller...soon to be a double stroller, so I need at least one hand free as well. I walk with Dakota on a hands free leash and Prince on a regular lead, works out great for me. Plus if I need both hands free I can attach Prince's lead to my waist, where Dakota's hands free lead sits around my waist. _________________ |

| Yes I agree, using a coupler with head harnesses is a recipe for disaster. Gentle Leaders are already very tricky and can cause some serious damage with a flick of the wrist.
I would use a walking belt for Meeka and a regular leash with Abby until she is lose leash trained; or hook both of them up to a walking belt. Much safer then a coupler and they aren't right on top of each other; my dogs didn't like it for that reason either. |
