| He will not be ready for another 2-3 weeks, but I want to put this out there to give him a leg up. I am starting the process of looking for his forever home. I will be EXTREMELY picky to where this lover ends up. Like, crazy picky. I may let some things go, but there are stipulations I will NOT budge on.... -Previous Siberian ownership. He will not go to a family that is new to the breed. -No children under 8. He is a very big and very clumsy boy, and he even hurts me sometimes. I can only imagine what would happen to a small child. -No small dogs. He does not understand they are not prey. He has stalked my neighbors Westie and the introductions have not gone well. -No cats. He would eat them in a milisecond. This boy has an extremely high prey drive. These are all I can think of right now, but will be other rules to his adoption. This boy will microchipped but it will be in MY NAME. You will have to sign a contract, and your household will be inspected one way or another. If you have other dogs, a meet in greet will definitely be needed. This boy is very sensitive and the new owners will need to be prepared for a house training relapse. He is very in tune with emotions and if he sense high stress levels, he gets stressed and he will start to relapse in potty training that way as well. He connects much better with women than men; that I can fully contribute to his previous owner. He does very well in a crate and he is learning how to walk on a leash quiet nicely. He is NOT to be left out in the house however; he will destroy anything and everything he can and he will counter surf. He doesn't get up on the counters when I am here however. He honestly has no fall backs I have seen yet; other then he is VERY talkative. In the morning he will howl. When you are getting ready to go on a walk, he will howl. When you are getting breakfast ready, he will howl. It is super adorable and I personally love it. He is learning general obedience commands very quickly; he knows to "sit" and "wait" before eating. He knows to "sit" when I put his collar on and he knows to "wait" before going out the door. We are working on everything else. You definitely need to make him "sit" while putting his walking gear on or he will run circles howling his little head off. He is a VERY active and VERY smart dog! His legs are pure muscle, so be prepared. I have done some joring training (just running right now) with him and he has picked up the commands VERY fast. This boy LOVES to run and he LOVES to pull, so I would REALLY prefer an active home for him. I know there is some stuff I am missing, but I can answer any questions you may have!! Photobucket is being DUMB right now so I cannot upload his newer photos. I will try again later today or tomorrow, but for now, here is what I have of my precious baby.

| So sweet! I think you got him around the beginning of May, correct? If so, you have picked up his habits very fast and you are extremely attentive! Good work. You definitely seem to have a good head on your shoulders and know what you want for his future family. I love the rescue community and you're doing a nice job. Best of luck for his future family! <3 |

| Just want to bump this boys' thread up!! He is learning very quickly to walk on a leash.. but the boy can't walk in a straight line. We are working on it, but it gets a little frustrating LOL. He will still need some work, but he is a fast learner. He is not to be in a house with another dominate dog. Be it male, female..whatever. He needs a low key, laid back furry family member. I don't think he would work well as a singleton dog, so a furry family member is probably a must . I will post as I remember things, but I just wanted to bump my pretty boy up! |

| Kelsey, I only have one question. Why is the dog being microchipped to you? As an owner, with a dog coming from a breeder who microchips, I think it's only fair to list the owner first, rescuer as emergency. This person gets called if the first person can't be reached. That is simply my opinion. |

| I didn't know you could register to more then one person!! I had read online somewhere (don't remember where) that if you are rehoming or adopting a dog out that you should microchip it in your name so if it goes missing or is dumped you get notified. I didn't really think much of it, just going off what I read.
In what case would they notify the emergency contact?? |

| I place myself as primary contact now, all it took was one incident and that was the last of it. All my adoptive homes are aware prior to finalization of adoption. Call the chip company, there are more data fields if you call them and add them that way rather than online. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! | BUMP!
Just because my boy isn't in a shelter doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a home either!!!
Him and Sheba are NOT getting along and he is starting to have fall out behaviors (nothing major, but I can tell).
PLEASE share.. I am willing to travel. I'm sure something can be arranged.. He needs his happy ending.. |

| Already done that lol. I spammed EVERY page I could think of.
Two rescue pages (one sibe/mal specific), soggy paws grooming page (hold adoption events there), an all natural pet store page (also hold adoption events), two humane society pages, and two doggy day care pages, oh and the NEW H2M2 Nebraska page!! LOL BWAAHHHH!!!
SO FRUSTRATING!
Oh, did get a laugh earlier though. Some one contacted me who, 1. had a 2 year old (specifically stated no small children), and 2. who on July 21st put up their one year old Chi puppy for sale because, get this....THEY HAD NO TIME FOR IT. Please, people. |

| Ugh.. Ares' potential family fell through. They were watching their boss's dog for a month, and felt that the behaviors of their two dogs were changing for the worst, not for the better. So, they will stay with their two pups. Kind of a bummer, but understandable. SOOO, this boy is back on the market. I'm starting to get REALLY attached to this boy. If anybody knows of ANYONE who is interested in another baby, PLEASE forward his info on.. |

| I actually have a friend here in Maryland who is looking for a Husky, I wonder if we could get some sort of transport going. You're about 18 hours from us by car. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | I sent Ares' potential an application, and he is thinking things over before fully committing, because obviously this is a big life decision.
After Ares' has come out of his shell a bit more, some more Ares' quirks.
-After all, I think he would do best as a singleton. He THRIVES on attention. At first, I think he played with the dogs more because he wasn't too sure of us humans. But now, he is a total lover boy and would be more then content to have all of the attention to himself.
-He is lazy. SO LAZY. I have never met such a lazy husky LOL. He could sleep all day every day if he could. If he does sleep all day and doesn't get at least 2 walks a day however, he gets a little..rowdy. It's been so hot here these past couple days, the pups have only gotten one walk a day if they are lucky. Tonight it was REALLY nice out and that little stubborn mule. Was pulling me all over the place and was acting like a damn mule. After about 10 minutes he finally knocked it off, but still. Good to know.
-At first, he wouldn't let me near his feet. Ever. His paw pad hair was over grown when he came here, and by the time I had finally been able to cut the hair, you could see it from looking at the top of his paw. So, he is a little touchy on his paws, but not as bad.
-I have started using the PetZLife oral spray, and he lets me spray his teeth twice a day with minimal protesting. Pretty awesome of my big lug.
-He doesn't particularly like baths, but he handles them well. He strangely LOVES to be dried with the HVD though. We use a B-Air, and he will try to eat the air and loves having his face blown. He is a strange pup.
Fingers crossed this one goes well! If not, the search will continue! |

| Fingers crossed! I have an application on Maddie this week too! Third time's the charm... The first one flaked out on me after hearing about her allergies (which she doesn't have, oops) and anal gland issue... The second one turned in an application on a Monday. They were emailing us like crazy for the next three days and were totally interested. We told them it would take a while to review their app because we all have full-time jobs and etc. On Weds, when we checked with her first reference, they told us to "not bother" because she had already gone out and adopted a different dog from a shelter! GRR! Yay for adopting, but damnit, don't lead us on for 3 days then turn around and get a different dog.
This app means that Maddie will be an only dog, which is fine, she loves attention and her human companion (she gets annoyed by Juneau a lot). I'll let them adopt her as long as they give her plenty of attention and walks. She loves walks.
Good luck with Ares!! |

| Good luck to both of you in finding these dogs homes!
My fiance's mom really wants a dog, but if we help her find a dog, I'm 99% sure she will want a chow chow even though she loves huskies and have owned them as well. |

I feel like this what has happened to me both times. First time they talked to me for over a month. I feel like you could tell your dogs personalities were changing in a couple weeks, not almost 2 months. Then the other potential was torn between Ares and a JRT. Kind of annoyed me that I had to find out over his status and he didn't tell me until after Meredith did. Also, Meredith was the one that told me he went with the other dog. He has still yet to tell me. Like you said, so glad he saved another pup and gave it a second chance. But please tell ME first instead of everyone else when I was hanging my hopes on this one. Also, Meredith did most of the communications between the two of us, so that kind of bothered me as well. So, thank you Meredith for everything. You tried so hard to make this a reality when it wasn't your responsibility . Thank you so, so much. I wish GC and his new pup a very happy and long life together . |

| I do kind of want to strangle him, but this is definitely his age and naivety showing. I feel bad for you, I know what a let down it is because I felt it every time something fell through with Diamond when I fostered her.
I'll definitely keep my eyes and ears open for you, and if someone out east does wind up adopting him my parents said they'd help do a leg of the transport if it goes through Chicago. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword.
