| Hi everyone, my boy Orion has some strange behaviour when it comes to our cat and I am not sure if I should be concerned or not? Orion is 4 & 1/2 months and was properly introduced to our cat Ted (1 & 1/2 year old British Shorthair) and generally he does quite well with Ted except for a few things I can't work out.
Orion seems to want to sit on Ted a lot, he also stands over Ted - not doing anything bad he just stands there, he stalks Ted trying to sneak up on him and lastly he mouths Ted whenever he can, he does not bite he just has his mouth open around Ted coating him in drool.
Now Ted is a big cat with a huge attitude (Brits are commonly called the bulldogs of the cat world) and he loves to swipe at and chase Orion round and if Orion annoys him enough he will"tackle" him (yes he pins the puppy to the ground) then stalk off once Orion quits struggling.
I have considered that maybe Orion is just pestering Ted to get him to play but I am worried about the renowned husky prey drive being an issue especially since Orion is already catching and killing any birds silly and slow enough to be caught.
Do you think Ted is in danger? |

| Possibly, yes, but not absolutely either. Whenever you thing the interaction doesn't appear right, tell Orion off, or away. Teach those commands soon as you can. Mouthing isn't necessary good or bad. My three do that to each other all the time. (3 dogs) but with a cat I'm not sure.
Just really supervise them until your sure they are safe, and make sure Ted has an escape route to get away from Orion if need be. |

| That sounds like sound advice. I also hope things work out well, it really does appear that the puppy wants attention from the cat, kind of like an adopted littermate. |
