I was interested because I was wondering if freckles are an expression of merle. From this link, it sounds more like ticking. It was funny, this weekend we were walking around a town and someone asked me, "How does he get to be that color?" Uhhhh, what? I just said "It's genetics, just like humans. It's a recessive gene, kind of like blondes in people." I mean, what kind of question is that? He's born that way, that's how! I don't think they would have appreciated a long scientific response

thats when I would tell them we use Nice and Easy !

We have a friend with a black lab, her front 2 paws are brindled. A lot of people ask them why, they started answering that they like the acid wash look and decided to try it on her! lol
