| [i]I Just recently got a puppy I was told shes siberian and a mix but they didnt know what but the more and more I look at her she looks more like a malamute... shes only 11 weeks now so still hard to tell but if anyone knows a great way to tell the diffrence can you help? Ill post a picture later tonight as iam at work |

| DNA test is pretty much the only sure way to tell. |

| It's harder to tell as puppies. Mals are generally larger and furrier than huskies and their ears tend to be set further apart. Can't wait to see pics! |

| Yeah I noticed that in trying to research but females dont look to much diffrent all I notuiced is her ears are still floppy at 10 weeks and ive read up that malamutes can take up till 6-9 months for ears to be up since they are usually down teething :\ |

| another big difference between malamutes and huskies is that huskies can have blue eyes and malamutes do not. malamutes also weigh considerably more as adults than huskies |

| as a malamute owner I will post First of all the fluffy part. Like huskies, mals have regular coat and wooly. Their hair feels different than a husky. and the ear thing. My mals ears went up and 14 weeks. The weight for a malamute is 65-85 pounds. My malamute maggie is 75 pounds. Malamutes usually have a box head. I say dog like and a shorter snout then a husky. |
