I'm going to start with a little backtracking...

So Kiba is about 2 months old right now and last week we brought him over to the families house who owns his mother for a little play date. They own a male husky who is about 4 months old (named Thesis) that Kiba played with the entire time. Throughout the time we were there Thesis was constantly marking his territory around the yard and Kiba was curiously watching what he was doing..

When we got home Kiba was marking inside the house, mainly in my room (thankfully we have tile floor). I wasn't aware that puppies were able to mark so early.. I read online that it started once they hit their sexual maturity.. But Kiba is smart and very perceptive so he picked it up quickly from watching Thesis doing it.

Today I was carrying Kiba around the room and had to set him down really fast to get a couple of items out of my hand. I put him down on my bed and turned to put up a couple of things before I turned back and caught him marking on my boyfriends pillow. I sternly told him NO! and placed him on the ground and took away all his toys from him.

a couple of minutes later I felt him shuffling under my foot and smelled poop.. Then I noticed there was a huge pile of poo laying on top of my gym bag. He's never ever pooped on my gym bag. He'll play around with it and nibble on it but he's never thought twice about pooping or peeing on it. I know huskies are very intelligent dogs so could he have done this out of spite?? I've heard stories of dogs doing things to purposefully upset their owner so could this be what he was doing?

Also, why would he mark inside my room and on my boyfriends side of the bed?

Dogs don't do things out of spite. He's still a puppy, these things happen.

Loki jumps up on my couch and poops! I have never had a dog do this before, and yes he has peed on it too. I have no idea why but I don't think its spite, or marking. I guess he just doesn't like that couch! Smile

Remember, to dogs poo and pee aren't gross. However, they are great ways to get attention.

Dogs don't think like we do. They don't do things to get "revenge" or to "get you back". They just do things to do them. As much as it may seem like it, they can't think like that.

I read once before that they pee on their owners things to put their smell in with ours (to put it super simple). For the longest time, Sheba kept peeing on my bed. Same spot every single time. I looked up reasons why she would do this and one of them I came across said by her peeing on where it smells like me the most, her scent would intermingle with mine. Not sure how much truth there is to that though.

He's probably just being a naughty puppy getting attention anyway he can. Negative or positive, attention is attention.

Honestly... I tend to think he just had to go to the bathroom and its just that simple. He was probably wandering around the bed, checking it out and the urge hit him and he just peed... As for the poop, if it was a huge pile, then he probably just really had to go. He's so young that he really can't hold it very well. By marking, do you mean lifting his leg or just squatting to pee? He might have a UTI if he is peeing little amounts every few minutes.
