| I just recently was educated on Woolies and I'm pretty sure that Rogue is one. I know that the breeder my fiance got her from wasn't reliable because we took her to the vet within 12 hours and she was eaten up with coccidia. She is spayed so I wont be passing on this undesirable trait, just wondering what the opinions were. She has grown sooo much and for a while we thought she might be part Mal because of how big she has gotten. She is almost 7 months and is 56 pounds. Taken 2 days ago Taken at 5 months |

| I'm not am expert by any means but she looks part Mal to me, especially the way her ears are set apart so wide. |

| Okay.. See, I most def thought that! Her eyes are blue though so she would be part husky. Her tail also curls into her back. That is a sign of a Mal Right? Plus she weighs SOOO much for her age and she is health. Her paws are bigger than my friends siberian huskies and he is over a year old. Regardless, I adore her, but would also like opinions. If their are other characteristics I could send pics of let me know! |

| I don't know about the eyes, I've never looked into what eye colors are possible for Mals, but I vaguely remembering that they're predominately brown so that could be a sign that there is Husky and not Mal there. As for her tail, that can be seen in both and it's called a "snap tail" if I recall correctly. Her size could certainly be a sign that there is Mal in her; her paws look HUGE in comparison to most huskies I've seen. There are Mal owners on here so hopefully they'll chime in. You can always get a DNA test at your vet, at least I think you can, I've never done it just heard about it. |

| Her coat looks too short to me from those few posted pics to be a wooly. All the woolies I've seen have much longer fur. IMO, I would say no, not a wooly. _________________ |

| Definently part malamute.
The ears are set really far apart and the weight is way above standard for a husky female especially at her age.
Blue eyes is a fault in malamutes because its a husky trait not malamute so i would say that she is a beautifully mixed dog. |

| She could very well be a mal/husky mix. Some people just don't know the difference between the two. Mals can't have blue eyes, so she's at least part husky. But her size and her coat make me think that there is some mal in her too. You can get a DNA test done, it would at least tell you if she's mixed or not. Either way, she's gorgeous!!! |

| I'm hoping after she has her first coat blowing she may thin down some. I've seen DNA testing kits from amazon. Anyone used those? And thank you! She is gorgeous no matter what and an amazing dog. (apart from the digging) there isn't anything I would change about her |

| Sorry. To clarify I did mean that her coat would thin out. Not her. When she gets in her pool I can tell that she is healthy and most definitely not chubby. |

Great Like I said anything is fine with me. I just know she is getting close to the same size as my friends male. I guess the next few months will tell me a lot |

| I'm curious... your topic is called "Is Rogue a Wooly?" and yet you're talking in the thread about Malamutes. Are you asking about both things? Her coat is definitely not wooly. Normal length for a sibe/mal. However, I can definitely see the potential for her to be a husky/malamute mix. As has been said, her head shape, paws, and size seem to be malamute, but with blue eyes, she's definitely got some husky in her. Just making sure we're clear that being a malamute and a wooly are not the same thing _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

Just making sure we're clear that being a malamute and a wooly are not the same thing Yes. I was only asking about her being a wooly when kodaandme2012 mentioned she looked part Mal. Thats how the subject came up. |
