| We picked our puppy up a week ago. She's a little over 8 weeks now. The breeder was feeding her this
http://www.eukanuba.com/en-US/product/large-breed-puppy.jspx
its for large breed though? Is this ok? Her stool has been soft all week with an occasional medium soft (mushy but coils).
Today though has got me worried. She has pooped around 5 times in under 5 hours. There is also mucous in the stool (first time this has happened). She has had no poop accidents in the house but today has had 3 VERY little ones. I would walk her and she pooped then she'll go again in like 5 min once we get home. I take her out immediately and she would go again but very little. I am concerned, thinking that it could be Colitis is this common? Or am I worrying myself. |

| It could be stress from the change, or it could be a little bug she picked up. I'd drop off a stool sample at the vet to save yourself the worry and hassle. I spent about a week when I brought my pup home trying to solve that problem and it turned out to be coccidia. Also, I have only found 1 food that doesn't give him the runs, I tried several. |

| Ok I just called the breeder and she told me that the 2 girls + mine (so 3) have coccidia. A week and a half ago the girls not the 3 boys (who have normal stool and no coccidia) were in a Ralph Lauren photo shoot so she thinks they contracted it there. Last week before I picked her up the breeder did a fecal test, but supposedly coccidia takes 1-2 weeks to fester which is why the initial fecal test came back negative. The breeder has just sent out the meds which I should get tomorrow or thursday. |

| Just out of curiosity who is your breeder? Only asking since we don't live too far from each other. |

| He is maturing fast. He is a show prospect and his lines mature very quickly. His grand sire was an american champion at 9 months, then exported to Spain and earned his championship there by 11 months. I didn't expect Diz to mature this quickly, but, it is what it is lol. That dog looked full grown by 6 months. Also, the ticker is a little deceiving, he's almost 19 weeks (almost 5 months), his dob is 3/1, but it counts 3/1-7/1 as 4 months, even though it was 17.5 weeks. Also he looks huge, but he's about 30 lbs. He's in a huge growth spurt now though, so we'll see how fast he gains. He is growing in a balanced way, so he looks kind of like a small adult husky, rather than a puppy. It's a bit weird lol. |

| Very cute! Its crazy how similar Lilu and Dizzy's coloring is. I will post more pics soon but she also has the orangeish/cream with the gray. I dont want her to get big quickly, cause she's so cute as a puppy. But she also comes from a winning bloodline both parents are champs. Sire holds a ranking of 7th in the country right now. Unfortunately my GF is demanding we spayed her =(
What size cage do you have him in now? |

| Ha ha. Even if she grows slowly it will seem too fast. Very cool about her sire! No reason not to spay her, unless you plan on showing her. I might end up getting Dizzy neutered as well. He may have a disqualifying fault, so I'm waiting to see if that resolves itself or not. He is already up to a 42" crate size. He could probably have a smaller one, but he likes to stretch out on his back, so I took the divider out. Plus I need to leave water in with him since its so warm and he's never had an accident in his crate. A play date would be great when Lilu gets big enough. I'm sure Dizzy will be in love. |
