| Be very careful where you take her until she's had her complete shot series. Even if she has had 1 or 2 rounds of shots, she is still susceptible to things like Parvo, which can live in contaminated soil for a very long time. If you do play dates before the shot series is complete, do not take her to an actual dog park, just do it in your yard or a friend's yard whose dogs are fully up to date on shots. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Seconding Mer on this one - walks etc would be the best way to get your puppy socialized with others without being in a dog-heavy setting. Once she gets that rabies shot, though, everything should be good to go. Let me know if you guys have a car and I can recommend some pretty good dog parks out in the west. |

Are you sure about the rabies? Just trying to make sure you are as careful as possible, for Lexi. But it is VERY rare to find a vet who will do a rabies Vac before 12 weeks of age. Even the crappy Vet I used to go to told us to just "wait for your 6 month check up , hence why we don't go to that vet anymore. I know in Quebec the law is 16 weeks before it can be given. Just make sure Lexi REALLY has her rabies shot. ~Chris~ _________________ Is this about the cake problem? What's the matter with you mathematicians, cake is never a problem. - Professor Lazlo

| Yeah, definitely double check with your vet before you take Lexi to too many places. It's not just rabies that could be an issue, but the most common parvo patient is a 3-4 month old, partially vaccinated puppy. She's had one round of shots yes, but that doesn't guarantee immunity. Our vets here in the States generally don't do rabies prior to 16 weeks either. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Have you been to a Veterinarian?
You should be getting a round of boosters at 12 weeks, 16 weeks, as well as a general look at the health of the puppy.
This is to protect against things like Rabies, Hepatitis, Parvo, Distemper, and other viral infections.
