| I got me 8 week puppy yesteeday, went to the vet and she is perfectly healthy..she wimpered and cried a lot bc of beong away from her siblings and mom. I have been taking her out a lot and she usually doesnt go. Anyways ehe pooped tqice agter eating..once riggt away and once an hour later at about 8. She then napped and cried at 10 so i brpught her out again. She was in a crate in my room. I brpught her in, settled her back in and went to the living room. She started to scream...loud. the tv wouldnt even xover it and even thr cats were freaking. I ignored it. After 3 hpurs she stopped and i went in to finally go to bed. She had pooped all over and it even went a foot out the vrate sprayed. Her crate divided so she can only jusy turn around in it. We moved her out the bedroom as she didnt stop when i was in there after dealing with mess. She has sscreamed all nighy with about an hour or two rest. Too loud to sleep. Whe is wimpering then yelping loud loud loud like someone stepped on her and then howls a long loud howl....over and over. What do i do? I cant sleep or think. |

| Almost all puppies do this. I brought mine home 2 weeks ago and the first week was hell! She is much better now after plenty of tough love and patience. It will get better as the week goes on. Dont give in to her whimpering unless it has been 2 hours in the crate. She will need to go out at least every 2 hours to go potty. Like Gary said, there is another thread that goes into detail about crate training... |

| With micole I took her out every time she screamed in her crate that young because of that issue. She is going to scream because she is away from her mother and her sisters and brothers. Every time I put Micole in her crate I give her a treat. I had only one toy in there for her to play with. When she went outside and actually did potty I had a treat. I probaley woke up 5-6 times a night. Falling asleep during meetings and work not cool lol But its part of having a puppy. You gotta teach her. Look up crate training like garebear said and start from there. Its not going to happen over night. Nothing is. You got a long was to go.... |

| While the screaming and crying is normal, that amount of poop and type is not. It could be from stress, but just to be safe... what are you feeding her? How much and how often? _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| It's the first night. Like with any infant in a new situation, they cry, scream, and throw tantrums. Give the crate training time, be patient, and be consistent. If you give in even once, she'll fight harder to get her way. Like mentioned above I'd read the crate training stickies. You're not alone! Stick with it and hang in there! |

I was told by my coworkers I looked like crap the first month of owning Loki. Sleep was non-existent at night that I started to take naps when I got home from work when Loki was napping. |

| Honestly these are normal problems you should of expected when getting your pup... Maybe not always the poop part, but the stress of new home, and if your switching her food or not can cause things like this. Just keep a eye on her and dont get mad at her she is a puppy and doesnt know better... Goodluck. And just stay postive with training |

| I agree with many of the posts above, sounds like the normal for the beginning. In most cases it will improve quickly, but some dogs may take a lot more time/work than others. And in some cases other options then the crate may need to be examined if possible as was the case with my sib.
I was able to get Maya to sleep in her crate at night after about a week (few nights sleeping on the floor next to the crate then a few of starting on the floor and move to my bed once she was well asleep) and she never had a single accident in the crate at night, but when it came to alone time in the day, mine never adjusted. I have had friends who have had similar issues who use an extra room as a 'dog' room which has just a few toys and a dog bed as the crate and their dogs did better.
My experience was a bit like this, but Maya never adjusted to the crate for day time, any time she was left alone for more than 15min I had a mess of some combination of pee/vomit/poop to clean up (and many times a puppy to clean too). After about 3 weeks of dealing with this (tried crate in my room separate from anything else, in the living room/kitchen where my roommates dog was kept), and I gave up and tried out how does she do lose in the kitchen/living room with the rest of the house closed off at 4months of age and she never touched a single thing until she was about a year old (she found she loves to shred paper/cardboard when home alone) and we tried the crate again. She no longer had issues with the messes, but she was now strong enough to break wire crates in under an hours time, so we went with the option of some new doors on shelving units and needing to keep a paper/cardboard free kitchen/living room where the dogs are kept.
Anyways, best of luck and hopefully in a few days she will calm down a bit in the crate and adjust to it. |

Its the presidents choice puppy food, its what dhe was fed before i got her. Im gonna switch her but not until she settles. She didnt eat lunch that day because of her long drive to me. The water is city here and maybe she was on well before though. Yesterday she didnt poo. No accident in crate last night and this morning she had a solid poo. She didnt scream al night last night just off and on and i ignored her. I let her out whrn she cried when it had been about two hours and she peed everytime. Today i put her in her play pen to clean the floors and she started screaming. She had just been out so i ignored her and came back in after 45 min of screaming ..she was only paused for a sec but she had pooed and it was very soft and messy. I think its stress. |
