Or the runny poop! It's definitely nice to not have to be on my toes 24/7 - li_izumi wrote:

Lol! Treats and you have to be quick, she will poses for 2 seconds and if you don't get it, shes gone and its just about impossible to get her to sit and focus again. I have tons of blurry pics of her. - simplify wrote:
She was so tiny. She looks like a kitten in this pic.
She's growing up so much! She really has grown up so much makes me sad lol |

| The ground is white! This is the only pic I have of today cause she was moving around too much and it was getting dark, but hopefully I can get up and go take some pictures in the morning, since this might be the only time in her life we get something that looks like snow and actually sticks to the ground |

| So we had a friend's basset over for a week now, he goes home on Wednes, but this is the only good pic I've gotten of both of them, neither will stand still long enough, he really wants to make basset/husky babies as well excuse the paper towels in the background he sloshes about a fourth of the water from the bowl on the ground |

She loves it, she spends most of the ride at the front with her head sticking out of the railing, or sitting by me on the back seats, she does really well |

| So it has been quite some time since I was last on and a lot has been going on, I figured I should come on and post some new pictures of her and do an update on how my baby has been. Since the first day we had her, she has always done this thing where she will drink water until she throws up, we have brought it up to the vet almost every time she went in and were always told its a "puppy thing" she will grow out of it eventually. Well she hasn't and when she started going into work with me (I work at a doggie daycare now), my boss saw her do it and immediately told me I needed to take her to a different vet, she sent me to one who is known around here for figuring out problems like this, and it turns out baby girl might have a liver shunt. We did a bile acids test and with her other symptoms a liver shunt covers them all. A liver shunt is basically a blood vessel that is carrying blood away from the liver which it needs plenty of to survive. So it is slowly killing her liver, good news is, we live close to one of the best vet schools around and with an operation (as long as the vessel in outside of the liver) it is a completely fixable issue and she should live a nice long life. Without it we are looking at a she MIGHT live to 13 she might live to 7, its hard to tell. Hers seems to be a milder version of one, and since we caught it now vs. in a few years when she started going down hill, I am crossing my fingers that everything goes fine and we come out on the other side stronger. As of right now she is much herself, a happy, silly girl and I've just been trying to not stress about it much, hence why I haven't done this sooner. But her vet visit is coming up and I figured now is probably a good time to do an update post. So here are a few pictures I've acquired of Nova since the last time I updated her scrapbook. |

| Love the pictures. I hope the vets can fix up her liver issues and she will be okay. It is hard looking at a seemingly healthy dog then having to hear you may not have them as long as anticipated. I know when I look at Keno roughing around with Kenzi it's hard to think that the vet only expects 3 more years with him. I'll keep my fingers crossed they can get her all fixed up for you. _________________ |
