Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. | My 12 week old Husky Lexi is a very good dog doesnt nibble on our 6 month old son she will be mouthy with me or my fiance but we say no right away. But for some reason she chases our 9 month old kitten around and grabes his fur I never hear him cry like hes upset or hurt but she will also do this to his neck and tackle him then let him chase her it seems very rough so i stop it right away im not sure if its play, her being in charge, or trying to actully eat him.... how do I stop it or is it nothing to worry about? |

| You are right to try to stop it, regardless of if she's being playful or not. She's smaller now and if she tries to play with him that ruffly when she's grown she could kill him, even unintentionally. Tiring her out by playing with her will be key, if she's tired she'll be less reactive to the cat moving around. When Nunya is hypered up he's extra aware of the cats, and my mom thinks it's cute so I refuse to get my cat declawed.
You could try leaving a leash on her and when she tries to play with him lead her away right away and get her attention with something more exciting and play with her instead. Even if she's just staring at him intently, get her attention and reward her for giving you her attention by giving her something awesome either treat-wise or by playing with her. If it has shock value a sharp "no" or "leave it" could work, and then reward her when she stops. |

| Some cats just know how to give off the "get away or I'll kill you" vibe haha My kitten does this when strange dogs come over to play but won't defend herself against Snoopy or Nunya. Or maybe your pup just knows to respect her elders, who knows :] |

| Yeah I agree, it good to stop it now. It does sound like play, but could injure the cat as the puppy grows. |
