PostSubject: Diarrhea !   diarrhea - Diarrhea ! EmptyTue May 07, 2013 3:35 pm

I just notice that Rylai is suffering from diarrhea !
I think its because sometimes she eats things when we are having a walk.
What should I do about this or what specific medicine should I buy in order to stop this ?
Her stool is so so so so wet,
2 days from now, we are going on a long trip maybe 8-10hrs. And I dont want her to suffer and have this kind of excessive bowel movement along the trip. Please do help Sad

However when i gave it to koda he actually started throwing up like min later which made my situaion worse. However i dont know if it will help or make ur puppy worse. He could of started throwing up cause he didnt like it. Idk. But when i took him to the vet they gave him a shot of something for the vomiting and a pill of something for the runs.. Sorrry i dont have more answers.

If you need a quick fix I would use Imodium, although I don't know if you even have that over there. But ultimately you need to find the source of the problem and fix it, using a medicine is only a "band-aid" and won't solve your problem but may provide temporary relief.

I have used Imodium in a pinch and it worked wonderfully. I don't remember the dosage anymore though.

Canned pumpkin paste mixed with food and lots of water. Usually clears harry up after 1-2 days.

Sorry to hear she's having trouble.

That's not too bad of a trip, though. Just take her for a really long walk before the trip so she can do her business, and make one or two stops along the way, if necessary.

I second the pumpkin. It cleared Dizzy up in about a day and a half. Also try to keep her from eating stuff on the walks and stop giving her any treats or anything extra outside her food. Don't do too much pumpkin though, or it can backfire. My little guy is almost 10 weeks and I gave him 2 spoonfuls per day, with his breakfast to start with, and that has worked fine.
