Ok soo when i first got koda he was a angel in his crate.. He was doing teal well with it, then he got sick lile a month ago. And during this period, any time he made any sound i would take him outside so he would have a accident in his crate.. This was about every 20mim to 30mim id take him out in middle of night and he would go wvery time. It was pretty bad. Well he got better and now for the past 3 weeks he go in his crate and just whine forever.. I would ignore him.. Well one night inreally just wanted to sleep so i left my room and slept on the couch right outside my room.. I can still hear him but i noticed he stopped whining after a few min. So the next night he wouldnt stop whining again so i went to the couch and he stopped again. So i tried doing the blanket over the crate, thinking maybe if he doesnt see me.... It helpes a little but didnt stop the problem.. So for the last 2 weeks ive been sleeping on the couch, and i want my bed back!!! Any ideas?

Move his crate out of the bedroom?

When we had issues with our sibe whining every night hubby finally got fed up with it and smacked the top of the crate with his pillow. Our sibe never made another peep after that to this very day. Lol It was a bit unconventional and he hit the crate, not the dog, but hey it worked.

I wear them because my hubby snores and I always hear my alarm. You could test it on a morning you don't have to get up early. Smile another thing that might work is a light alarm. I use one in the winter because it makes it a lot less excruciating to get up at 5:30 during the winter. It's made by Phillips. I am not a morning person at all, but I have to be at work by 7:30...

I love it! I don't use it much in the summer, but its great in the winter. It was pretty cheap too. Only about $40.

You said the couch is right outside your bedroom, can you put the crate there and sleep in the bed? That way you can still hear him if he needs to go out? And then once he settles in it out there you can try moving it back since you like him being by you.

I've had both of these problems, separately. My husband snores and for about a week I got ran off to the couch every night. He would snore in my ear and wake me up, then I couldn't get back to sleep because Mila was panting in her crate or smacking (HATE that sound), and the cat would be sitting on my chest licking himself (DOUBLE HATE that sound!!!!) and I would just say forget it and go get on the couch. I definitely missed my bed!!
Also when Mila still slept in her crate in our room, if I would put her in her crate and then go to brush my teeth or go back in the living room she would whine and start to dig a little bit. For a while I ignored her but I finally got to the point where I popped her on the nose because it was just ridiculous and soo dramatic. Brat.

I've always wanted one of those but didn't know if they worked!! Does the sun actually come up and is shining super super early in the summer in NYC? When I went to Vermont for a summer to work, I had to get up at 6 and the sun would already be coming through my window. It was crazy!!
