Hi guys, this is my first post and I am going to try and keep it short and sweet.

We have a 1 year old husky, Simcha, great dog, super domesticated never have any issues with her, except for the one now...
Simcha was brought into our home about a year ago and the rest of the dogs we've had since they were pups.

As I am sure you know, Shedding season has begun, we live in the Florida panhandle so its hitting us HARD. We have the furminator and I like to use it twice a week, I usually take Simcha and our other 3 dogs (Oliver 12, Ophelia 4 *both dachshunds, who are under 20 LBS. and Ben 2 , a chihuahua/pom mix) out in the backyard and brush Simcha for about 15-25 minutes.

About 4 months ago, while brushing her, she and the oldest dog, Oliver, got into it pretty bad, she made some pretty deep wounds in the back of his neck, the next morning I decided to let them around each other again and she went straight for his neck, not much damage was done that time but we made sure they kept their distance from each other for about a month, Oliver has never been fond of her, growls at her and pretty much leaves the room when shes around, those were the only incidents.
(I should mention they are constantly around each other now, with no issues whatsoever)

Well today, I was out brushing her and she and Ophelia got into it pretty bad, Ophelia, I think just happened to be the closest thing for her to take her annoyance out on, I had to take Simcha off the ground and she still had Ophelia in her mouth, now Ophelia has never been fond of Simcha either, I mean they don't play, but there is never any signs of aggression towards each other, they can be around each other no problem at all, I mean sometimes they even stay in the same kennel together.

My question is, since the only times this has happened is when she was being brushed, should I keep the other dogs inside? How do I go about getting them around each other without Simcha attacking unprovoked? and how do I discipline Simcha after something like this happens?

If shes only doing it when you're brushing her, than to me yes I'd say the easiest solution would be to keep the other dogs inside to prevent them from harm. Also, it could be that the furminator could be hurting her, as it actually damages the coat as I've been told. A good test would to be to try it on your arm - if you hurts you, it probably hurts your dog. I just use a good undercoat rake and comb as well as a pin slicker brush - my dogs have never hated grooming time

In your opinion, should i keep them apart for a while? or should I just let them roam the house together like usual?

I'm no trainer haha o.o any help here guys? In my opinion though the 'grooming' is her trigger, she should be fine normally in the house with them.

I dunno, considering she went after Oliver the next morning after the first incident, I'd personally let things settle for while. I am for sure no trainer here either.

Try changing the brushes you use too while you're grooming. I know some people on here use the Furminator and it works great for them, but if your dog has thicker/longer hair, it can cut the hair and maybe pull it from the skin (I'm only speculating), so that could be getting her annoyance up as well. But I would say, at least for the time being, keep the other dogs indoors while your groom Simcha just to be on the safe side.

I have really bad anxiety when it comes to getting them together again so I waited for Sam (boyfriend) to be at home to get them back together since he is much more calm and relaxed than I had been, so far so good with them! In the meantime no more brushing her with the other dogs. Also, what are some good rake brushes you would recommend? Again, thank you for the replies!
