| Ghost was attacked last sunday night by a male labrador, luckily neither of the dogs seemed to got hurt. So I was walking with Ghost near my house and I decided to pass through a huge garden that exists right across my street, because at that hour some of his friends usually are there playing. When we were passing a female dog (Cuca) came running towards us because she loves Ghost, after her came Sam (a labrador). I new the labrador always growls at Ghost beacuse he doesn't like male dogs, so I acted carefully. The owners came and put the leash on both dogs and it was all fine, so far... So I went on my way with Ghost, we crossed the street and we were turning on a corner and I noticed that Ghost was looking back and I looked too. Then I saw the two dogs running in our direction like crazy... The female dogs is crazy for my dog so as soon as the owner released her from her leash, she came running after us from afar. She even cross the road and the labrador crossed after her too (they could have been run over). The female dog came running in circles around Ghost and started jumping on him (she is young and most of all she's getting in heat now for the first time, she's not 1 yet), so the labrador was glue to us and started growling... I didn't know if he was going to attack or not, but I put my hand on Ghost's harness to push him aside, and as soon as I did this the dog attacks Ghost (and it wasn't even that bite that they usually do as a warning, this one was to rip his throat open). So Ghost was defending himself (Ghost never attacks other dogs, even when they give him the warning bite, he just ignores them and follow his way, he only reacts when he is seriously attack), they were wrapped around each other with Sam trying to kill him, and Ghost was defending himself. I actually had never seen him like that, he looked like a total wolf O.o So I was there holding Ghost by his harness goind around in circles so the dog couldn't reach him, while putting my body between the two to create some king of obstacle. On one side I felt bad because by doing this I think Ghost wasn't able to defend himself properly, on the other side if I didn't do this the fight would be much worse till one ended up killing the other. Then finally, the owner of the female dog came running and was calling her, but the owner of the labrador was still very far. The problem was that the female dog didn't leave mine alone, she wanted to play with him so Sam kept attacking. Every time I was able to separate them for at least 3 seconds, Cuca would come jumping on Ghost and Sam would start atacking him again :S Cuca's owner finally caught her and I was able to pull Ghost aside and they stopped. Even or neighbour from the other side of the street that has a labrador too that uses to play with Ghost, heard such a big fuzz that he came to the window to see what was going on. After that I kept walking with Ghost and when I was turning the other corner, Sam's owner finally arrived and put the leash on him and apologize (to his defense everytime I see him walking Sam he always uses the leash). So when we left my adrenaline was pumping but Ghost seemed fine like nothing had happened. He just wanting to return to his walk, so I decided to act like nothing had happened in order not to leave him with some trauma or bad association. We kept walking and playing P.S. And Sam is a Huge labrador, he is the biggest labrador that I know, he is a beast. No the typpicaly fat goofy labrador :S |

| It's very sad to hear that ghost got attacked...I'm glad he's ok. The same kind of story happened to Kato...except Kato was just curious about this corgi that came up to him. Kato wasn't showing any signs of aggression at all...just simply smelling him. Then the corgi attacked Kato and of course corgi's arent tall. So Kato was totally grabbing the corgi by the neck and shaking him back and forth...it was scary...I had to hit him with my purse so that he would release the corgi....anyways...ever since Kato's attack...he will not play nice with any dog male or female...I just hope ghost doesn't act like that after being attacked. i think now Kato is traumatized by this.. |
