| I just got my 1year old girl, about a week ago, and im trying to "fatten" her up, she is 30lbs, but skinny. She is on Proformaturin Ultra, but she doesnt like it unless I mix a table spoon of Veggie oil thru it. I would use egg, but she did not like that. Is it okay what Im doing? [b]

| Have you considered feeding raw? Heather (I forget her username) had issues with a very under weight and picky eater. She switched to raw and it seems to be solving the problem because her pup cant get enough of it! Hopefully she will chime in... |

| How does the Raw work? But i just spent 75$ on a 30lb bag of food. Id like her to finish before i change her diet. I also have a vet appt with her today, just for a quick check up, I will also see what he says about her diet, but im more intrested in what you guys think, because my vet is more geared towards small pets.

| It might be worth trying a bit of yoghurt mixed with the food, alternatively you could add a couple of spoons of chicken stock rather than vege oil. |

| Can you return the food? Also female sibs are not that heavy if they are within standard 30lbs is not that skinny, she still needs to fill out.our girl is 45lbs at 10yrs old. Also try more natural oils instead of veggie oil, like olive or coconut oil. Try natural peanutbutter as well. _________________ |

| I can't return the food, the food came with her sorta. Where can I get coconut oil, I've never seen that before, she isn't my first dog, but she is my first husky, I've had a pit, and my beagle is 15 now, so I got some experiance, LOL. I'll try peanut butter aswell, if I can get it away from my mom, she kills for peanut butter. She is skinny, can feel every rib, and I just came back from the vet, to get her shots, and he even said, there was no skin to grab, to put the needle in. |

| They sell coconut oil at the grocery store. For us it's in the regular oil section (near the olive oil). Can you take a picture of her from the top and the side? If you can see her ribs then she's too skinny.
Most sibes are very picky eaters so you might have to end up changing her food if she just doesn't like it.
Also, I remember a thread somewhere that mentioned satin balls to put some weight on skinny dogs....

| Oh, and how tall is she? My 7yr old female weighs 47lbs, but my one year old weighs 34lbs. She's shorter though. |

| Since you just got her a week ago she could still be adjusting and she might like the food better once she is moresecure in her surroundings. But femaile sibe are not that large. In Ohio I found coconut oil in the health food section of the local grocery. Look for coconut oil in the natural food section health food or organics area. It is hard pressed virgin and that is solid at room temp. (like fancy lard in my opinion)
I give mine green beans or a pinch of gr beef raw in his food when he gets picky. I wet it with a small amount of pumpkin sometimes too. There is feed on here for raw plus there are lots of nutritional info on those tabs regarding peas, eggs, carrot, beans, pumpking, fish oils, coconut oils.
There are a lot of goes high cal snacks that you could all liver treats salmon treat if you wanted here to finish her bagged food you could top some raw on it or buy wet food to top on it. Wonder if she likes apples then you could use a natural apple sauce to wet her food.
The food looks like it is an okay food see dogfoodadvisor.com |

| Thanks guys for all your input, she's about 2 1/2 feet tall, she LOVES veggies, mainly carrots. I'll go looking for that stuff you've all said to try, next time I go shopping, probably an few days or so, its already on my shopping list. I can't thank you guys enough, this is helping me become a better husky dad. |
