Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| this is the only picture I have left. the rest we lost with the crash of my old computer. She was half husky half lab.. Pitch black with blue eyes. She went with me everywhere. she was the sweetest dog I had ever own, she was more like my child really. She Didn't get to live a full life. she wasn't a year old when my family and I had to go on an emergency trip to Tennessee because we had a relative in the hospital, So i had my bestfriend babysit. When I came back to get her She was acting really sick and sad. I decided to take her to the vet in the morning, because later that evening she developed a lump on her back, and I took her out to use the restroom and it was artificial green color. (I didn't sleep a wink) that morning, When I took her to the vet she had gotten worse, we found out she had gotten a hold of rat poison. and lots of it. it was past the point of help. I still remember the look on my bestfriends face. we searched the house to find that her dad, without telling anyone had placed a tub of rat poison in their laundry room. and my little girl ate it all up. I have mourned and I haven't had a dog for three years.I have also learned valuable lessons about placing your dog in someones else care. I now I am ready to get a new furball now that I am moving into a house in a few months so I am on the hunt for a husky pup . |

| Storm will always hold a special place in my heart though. She has also taught me the more serious part of owning an animal. I always thought I knew this before her but now I realize SHE taught me this. Once you become the owner of an animal, every decision you make can make or break your dog. you decide ultimately whether they get a full and happy life or not. And I think that was the best lesson I have learned. .... ... ( sorry, I thought i typed this into the first message.. it messed up ) |

| I'm sorry for your loss. I lost an Airdale to rat poisoning, but it was intentional. Very sad time in my life. You may be able to salvage some of the data from your computer (depending on what component crashed). You can send your harddrive to a data specialist and they can retrieve old files/pictures for you, but it can get expensive. Welcome to the forum. This is a friendly place to learn all things Husky, and just about anything else! |

And Jennifer I will e making a new forum soonish for help A nd Jackie I was sadly informed that it was not salvagable according to my friend who worked in a local computer shop, it was a while back so I can't really remember what parted was "fried", but died was the term used. And I definitely am learning a lot about huskies. I joined this as part of my preparation process before we get or husky. I have been reading forums non stop, lol. I am also reading Cesar Milan's puppy book . And scoping out good parks and I found a really cool 'pet health food store' . |
