| So, this is a bit random, but I wanted to see others' opinion on the subject. I just started dating again after the end of a very bad relat.nship (it ended months ago) and I actually met a guy at the dog park. So, we both have dogs. His is a 7 month old male weimeriener. (sp?) We started dating a few weeks ago and our dogs seem to get along ok (an important factor in my opinion), but his dog seems to get very jealous. I can't tell if the dog is jealous of him giving attention to me, or if he is jealous of me. His dog loves me and seems to act up more when I'm around. He is always trying to get my attention.
Has anyone else had that problem? How did you deal with it? |

| I had to chuckle a bit at this. Lulu (our Cocker) is a jealous bitch, and made it pretty clear when Aaron and I started dating that I was not welcome and that she didn't really want me around. She'd hop up on the couch and try to worm her way in between us, or nudge me away from him. We pretty much took the tough love route, and she finally got over it. She's a little jealous of Diamond right now though, stupid dog _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | I haven't had any issues with my pup but before I had her, I had a cat that I raised since she was 3 days old. when my boyfriend and I got together, she was a little over a year old. she was extremely jealous and despised my boyfriend. still.... 2.5 years later - my cat still hates him, she doesn't live with us since I moved in with him (he's allergic) and when we go to my parents house, the cat will love all over me but likes to sneak up on him and smack him. lol. |

| lol sorry i had had to chuckle about this as well .... I had a cat for 4 years I adopted her at the SPCA (i have no idea how old she is). anyways... I am the ONLY female she likes. probably cause i feed her and take care of her. Mine is the exact opposite this bitch will cuddle with every man that walks thru the door!! My best friend to my father to my boyfriend... She is a whore lol But I wouldn't think too much into it. It will pass. But I would bring treats every time I came over. Just to show a little attention to the dog ... Maybe even brownie points towards the guy that you are dating .. Sounds like a win win to me |

| I love hearing everyone elses stories, too. I think he just really likes me... When I slept over the other night he climbed in the bed with us and was sleeping with his head laid on top of me. It's funny because the guy I'm dating says he is usually really good about respecting personal space until I come over. It's just me. LOL |

| Sabine & I were already dating by the time I adopted King, but she hadn't seen him until a few weeks after I adopted him. But I guess he was jealous of her or not having all the attention focused on him so he would wiggle himself between Sabine and me whenever we sat next to each other. He did it a lot the first few times she came over, but he only does it every now and then when she comes over. Funny thing is that he only does it with Sabine, he doesn't have any problems with my niece or anyone else who comes over. But anyway we pretty much took the tough route too and I guessed he learned to get over it and that she's not going anywhere anytime soon. |

| I guess dogs can read our emotions and how we feel about the other person? It's just so funny that they only do it to a "Significant other". |

| So, when we met, my hubby had 2 cats. Miles and Martini. Miles was a ferel cat he found and adopted as a kitten, Martini was from a friend of his that asked him to babysit for a couple weeks and never came back. They basically did whatever they wanted all the time. When we started dating, I pretty much moved in almost right away, I had my own place for a year after, but barely went there. So, being a dog person, I thought it was kinda gross that the cats were allowed to sleep and hang out on the dinner table, kitchen counters and whatnot, so I got a squirt bottle and started teaching them I didn't want them up there. After a couple nights of sleeping over I was laying in bed while the hubby/boyfriend was brushing his teeth, waiting for him to come to bed. Miles was sitting in the doorway glaring at me, and out of nowhere, he ran at me full force and tried to attack my face. Thankfully I pulled the covers up over my head in time and he didn't get me. The hubby was totally shocked! He had never done anything like that before lol. Needless to say he got in big trouble, and it never happened again. Now, he's my buddy and follows me everywhere, that must have been his last stand trying to get rid of 'that lady' with the squirt bottle. |

| I didn't have dogs when I met my husband. I had 4 cats. One of them is a total momma's boy. He wasn't mean to my husband when we first moved in together but he sure tested him. He would jump onto the headboard of my bed, in the dead of night and jump and make sure to land on my husband's stomach! Every so often, 7 years later, he still does it. He actually laughs now when it happens, the husband I mean. I think the cat is laughing too. He adores my husband now. |

| I got Juneau when my boyfriend and I were together, but she gets jealous when we hug! I still haven't figured out who she's jealous of, but she'll pounce on us and whine/howl to get attention. I think she's a daddy's girl (sigh, she's MY dog :'( ), so she gets jealous when he gives me attention lol.
Anyways, I would just keep doing what you're doing. Hopefully he'll eventually stop getting jealous. |
