| Just looking for some advice here.
I went out of town for one night. I boarded my pup at my vet. She did phenomenal there. My mom picked her up and let her play in her backyard until we got home yesterday.
One hour after she got willow to her house, she was playing and knocked over a ceramic bowl. it broke and cut her leg pretty bad. my mom loaded her up and took her to the local Animal Emergency Clinic. They tried to take a look at her leg and she was fighting them. So they eventually had to put her under and shave her leg and give her 6 Stitches. Very shortly after putting her under she had a grand mal seizure. The doctor had never seen a dog seizure from the medication he gave her. It was domitor. the antibiotic was convenia. and the pain med was a rimadyl shot.
I am scared to death now that she had a bad reaction to the meds, they gave her too much or something. Any advice or information would be extremely helpful.
oh & she is 14.5 weeks old. 21.5 lbs. |

| Oh no. That sounds really scary. I hope she's okay! I had a bad experience with rimadyl causing kidney failure, but that was after a couple weeks of daily use for pain (which was a blood clot misdiagnosed as arthritis). I'm sorry I don't have experience with any of this, but I'm sure some more experienced people will chime in. I would guess it would be more related to anesthesia then the other meds, but i dont know really, just a guess. Is she home yet? How is she? How are you? |

| We are home. We brought her home last night. I wouldn't let her out of my sight. We were up with her all night last night. She was very disoriented but she's doing 100 times better today. Very much herself. Doesn't even act like she was hurt. haha. So she deals well with that sort of thing. I am doing better, still worried. |

Me too! What made it even worse was when I got the initial phone call that something happened, I was 3.5 hours away. When I got the phone call about the seizure, I was still almost 2 hours away. It killed me to not be there. |

| I am so glad Willow is okay. I have watched her since you and her came on the thread she is very precious very much like her name. I have no knowledge about puppy seizures or reactions to meds. However, I do have a child of 13 that has a seizure disorder and has had many in the last 8 years- 2 years seizure free. It is scary when someone you love, rather it be a 2 legged child or a 4 legged child, to go through something like that and you cannot be right there holding their hand or paw. But always try to look at the outcome rather than you not being able to be there. The best news is they did it like big boys/girls and you are there now. |

| thanks everyone! i'm very much hoping it was a reaction to the medication & it is now in her chart at AEC & her normal vet - that she is very sensitive to those drugs! |

| Poor Sweetie, Tika had a reaction to lepto vaccines when she was 3.5 months old. Poor girl swelled up really quickly to the point where her eyes were swollen shut, its a very scary thing. Remind them next time you bring Willow in about it, because our old vet would constantly call to say she needed a lepto booster, I was furious with them since they never read further in the file to see she was allergic, we have switched vets since, but you want to make sure they know Willow's tolerance to those meds is very low. |

I'm just worried if she had that bad of a reaction to anesthesia - how will she react when I have her spayed? |
