Subject: Statues are Evil! Mon Apr 22, 2013 8:05 pm
Tia has always been skittish around statues, but she's gotten a lot better. I've only had Loki for 8 months and this is the first time I've had him near any. This is also the first time I've ever heard him bark. He's never barked before...he only talks (like most huskies).
Anyone else's pups afraid of statues?
A super-quiet downtown Saturday morning and we're in a kid's park with my dog barking at the statues.

That is so funny! I don't think I've ever taken Pippa anywhere with statues...definitely need to try that out though!
She acts like that if we're running at night and there's a bag of garbage at the end of someone's driveway though. It's like it sneaks up on her or something. Crazy dog.
Mine have never been around statues, but just recently Mya started getting freaked out over a huge light post that we pass on walks. Been going on the same route for 2yrs and now is when she notices it

Blaze just pees on the garbage bags..
Kerian would be worried about statues and probably bark at them she barks at anything strange she hears outside in the evening.
Koda does the exact same thing with trashcans.. I have. No idea why.. First time i heard him do a deep bark was at a trash can i was so stunned i am like was that you?!???
Haha it's so funny to to me when husky owners get surprised by their pups first actual full on dog bark, maybe it's because they don't really tend to bark? Idk could be wrong

Awww, that's so funny and cute!
Elmer- Honestly, anytime Shaqua barks (a rarity) it surprises me. She is SUCH a quiet dog. I guess most huskies are? She will bark occasionally when trying to play with another dog who seems disinterested, but I can go weeks without hearing her bark once.

Bella does weird little growl at a rabbit statue someone around the block from me has. Havent noticed jasper doing anything but whining and grunting at me because i wont let him yank me around on a walk. When i first brought them home we took a short walk that night and they were yipping and running away from leaves blowing down the street but the got over it preety quick.

When I lived with my mom, we lived across the street from these people with like 3 horses..boy Kennedy did NOT like them!! Barked at them every chance she had.
Well there is this mall in Lincoln that is named The Alamo..so you can guess what kind of statue they had.. We were at a stoplight and she noticed the horse statue and started FREAKING out!! Barking and growling and just plain carrying on. If I could have taken a picture of the lady's face in the car next to me.. It was seriously perfect. She looked like she thought Kennedy was about to jump into her car and rip her face off. I was dying laughing.
So yes, Kennedy HATES any and all horse statues. Sheba thinks statues are real, so she just wants to play with them and gets frustrated when they don't play back.. weirdo.

We've not gone by any statues, it isn't something we see here much at all, I'll be on the hunt for some now!
