| Thanks for the post I was trying to find more info on the following and dogfoodadvisor works.....On March 18, 2013, we received notification that Natura Pet is voluntarily recalling specific California Natural, Innova, EVO, and Healthwise dry dog, cat, and ferret SKUs as a precautionary measure due to potential Salmonella contamination. No Karma, Mother Nature, wet or treat products are included in this recall at this time. No illnesses have been reported from the recalled product. - Code:

| I've seen lots of pet food brands recalled. I honestly think the most safe bet is making your own food. But I'll be honest: I don't have time for that! |

| Is there ANY brand that hasn't had a recall?? Hubs wants us to swap her over to Blue Buffalo Wilderness, but I can't find a good supplier of that locally. |

| I'm just paranoid I guess. Do you really think it would be OK if I kept her on the same food? The store I get her food from told me they'd give me a replacement bag of food not affected in the recall. |

| From what I understand, dogs are able to proccess large amounts of Samonella without it affecting them. The concern is not so much for the dogs but for the people handling the food. If it was something more serious than salmonella I would be concerned. |

| Well, I think we are going to try out Orijen. This could just be the first set of problems to come from EVO since the buyout. I don't want to pay that much money for dog food that I can't trust the quality of. |

| Orijen is a great kibble if you can afford it! I just can't afford to feed Orijen to two dogs right now. Hopefully I can swith back soon. |

| I panicked when I saw this, cause we rotate feeding the cats Innova, California Natural, and PureVita, and two of those were being recalled. I was so glad that our bag was safe, but I'm not switching brands over it. I can't feed Acana products because they contain sweet potato and fish and one of the cats is violently allergic to both of those. |

| Just found out about the recall today. I'm switching from EVO to Acana for the time being, but it seems like the number of servings per pound of acana I'll get is way less than the EVO. Might try Nature's Domain for sheer bulk/price/quality |

| Natura Pet Expands Recall of California Natural, Innova, EVO and More by Mike Sagman
March 29, 2013 – Natura Pet has today announced it is expanding its recall of specific California Natural, Innova, EVO, Karma and Healthwise formulas as a “precautionary measure” due to potential contamination with Salmonella bacteria.
According to the company, no other P&G Pet Care brands are affected by this recall.
Natura Pet claims it was alerted to a single case of Salmonella in a package of EVO Turkey & Chicken Cat Food on March 15th.
The company then took the “precautionary measure” of recalling all products produced on the same production line within the same time frame.
After further examination, Salmonella was also discovered in other packages of EVO Turkey and Chicken Cat Food and Innova Cat Treats.

| Could somebody update the first post to include the newest portion of the recall? I would hate for somebody to think the recall doesn't effect them by mistake.....

http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-recall/natura-pet-widens-recall/ The thread title has been updated to reflect the recall expansion, but I will leave it up to people to actually read the thread for updated links or do their own homework unless the OP wants to change their original post. _________________ |
