| Okay, so my huskies have all been very good with not digging to the next door neighbors yards. However, this morning Karma dug a hole big enough that her and Khloe escaped. I filled up the hole and of course told them that it was not okay. However, a few hours later they all dug up the hole and all three of them escaped! I was literally running the streets for 30 mins trying to get them all. This is the third time it's happened on two different sides of the yard. What can I do to prevent them from leaving??
They get all their exercise time by going on walks, dog parks, playdates....so I don't know why all of a sudden they are doing this? |

| We put brick along the fence to make it hard for them to dig out. Also we do not let our dogs in the back yard for very long unsupervised.. |

| We did that too, but they moved all the bricks, and I think now that they know how easy it is...they continue to do it. They stay in the back yard for about 3 hours until my son gets home from school and lets them out. They've done this for 2 years, and I never had a problem with it until now. |

| Did you bury the brick under the dirt? I have a friend who's dog was a digger and kept getting out. He put brick a couple of inches underneath the dirt so he could still grow grass. His dog stopped digging after that. |

| I have also her of putting sheet metal along the fence buried..straight down like a fence underground.
I was also told to bury chicken wire along the fence a couple inches when the dogs hit it it hurts them a bit. |

| Yes, we put the brick under the dirt. They still figured it out. I'm thinking the sheet metal might work. The next door neighbor has chicken wire, and the dogs bit threw that. They also broke one of the wooden panels on the gate...I dont know what's gotten into them all of a sudden. |

| The weird thing is it's Karma that keeps getting out first. The other two follow. She's very smart, and she seems to be the pack leader. |

| You can lay chicken wire around the fence line, I'm going to be doing that for my girls soon. They don't dig much and if they do it's in the middle of the yard but i just to be safe. |

| If it's becoming a problem now, it's best to limit their outside time unsupervised... If that means they have to be crated for those hours... So be it. Because like you said, now they know they can do it. And they will continue to do it until the problem is addressed. As gross as it is you may want to take any feces and place it in any holes you fill in because that really works to keep them from not digging.
They also may simply just be getting bored being outside for 3 hours at a time. We had this same issue last week and thankfully it was something simple as fixing the chain-link between us and the neighbor but they went on strict scheduling to be outside and it was only when someone was outside to watch them.
Have you tried using the larger tiles and putting them around the edge of the fence? So they're not as small and easily moved as the bricks? _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! |

| I was just going to say - maybe you need the bigger cement bricks - the ones that a husky can't move... |

| My friend used cinder blocks buried under the dirt. . They were too heavy for his dog to move. I know there's 12", 16" and even 24" patio blocks you can buy. |

| The guy that owns the kennel we use poured concrete under the fence line. We used big flat rocks at your house. |

| Have you tried putting some of their "land mines" in the hole before covering it? I had a friend who had a siberian years ago and he absolutely loved to dig. My friend would put some of his poop in the hole and the dog wouldn't dig there again, but would go make a new hole. It became a weekend ritual to fill the holes in the backyard so nobody twisted their ankle playing football. |

| My Oldest when she was much younger was escaping almost daily and some people may not like this, but I put an electric wire around the perimeter of my fence. It was plugged into a electric box designed for animals. It delivers a mild electric shock to the animal. My husky got shocked once and never went near it again. She would walk up to the wire look at it and turn around. It's a lot better than having your pet run loose around the neighborhood. |

| We've poured cement along the fence line. It seems to work so far. |

| Shaqua loves to dig but luckily she has never decided to dig along the fence. I think she just digs to find those moles she likes to bring me. Ha ha : |

We've had to do an electic section recently ourselves. Hunter our Mal kept trying to get into the neighbours out the back as there was a dead sheep there, once he knew he could he kept trying. He's been zapped three times and hasn't been back, Milla only once. It's only a very mild current, I tested it numerous times. I have no problem with them when used correctly, I think it's more common in Aus than the states though. |
