Well some of you know I have 2 chickens and well Micole got a hold of one and hurt it pretty badly. So had to call a friend and ask them to take care of them for now on. Pretty upset because I raised both of them myself. Thought I could train Micole to stay away from them but this was the last straw. She has attacked them before but not like this. I know it is in her blood to do this, but I have to get rid of them before she actually kills them. The fun parts of owning a husky.

Oh nooo, the poor chicken!! You don't have a way of separating them? Not that anything is going to stop a husky, haha. What about this....

We have seven chickens and I have been trying to convince my family we should give them away. As of right now Nanook does ok with them but it is just a matter of time before he figures out a way to get in the coop. I have come home from work to find them out (how I'd beyond me) and he just chases them around keeping a distance, I do not see that lasting long though. It is hard for my kids to let them go (me, not so much) I just hope nothing happens before I conscience them it is for the best.

I would love chickens but after seeing Milla try to get at some in a coop at Petstock on the weekend I don't think it will be in our immediate future. The thing with the coops is I think they would fixate on them and run up and down which would just make life miserable for the chooks.

I didn't have much of a yard for them anyways. there was one spot i could keep the chickens. I tried building something like that but didn't work out so great. But how Micole even got into the coop is beyond me. my husband wanted to builded a better fence but to be honest the way Micole is she would have found a way. she would have dug under it or something. I mean the fence we had was above waist high. Micole did the same at first, she would chase them in a friendly kind of way, ... She drug one of my chickens by the wing around the back yard before i even noticed she had a hold of her. Looked like she wanted to play. the last time she actually had her neck in her mouth. this time she got into the coop and pulled a lot of feathers out. I was too scared to even attempt something like this. I don't think there would have been a next time for them. She was wayyy to curious for their own good. But good thing is the couple they went to are chicken happy lol both of my chickens had 3 babys each on easter and they took 3 of them. So now mothers and babys will be together. I am still pretty sad about it. I never thought i would have to get rid of them

I hear you on that! We got baby chicks last year and raised them up, enjoying how adorbale and cute they were. But when I started doing research for what dogs were OK where we lived, I found chickens weren't OK either. So we had to give them to a friend who has a butt-ton of them. It was sad to see them go but good for them.

I had someone come get them monday night, they had a dog didn't think they would attack them since there dogs are very small yappy dogs lol but I am not sure how they were attacked and killed I didn't ask that many details but both are in chicken heaven. |

I know the one thing I really tried to save them from they still ended up in the same position. Broke my heart. I am a huge animal lover no matter what size, color, breed and species. Love them all. But I tried. I guess thats all I could do. Don"t know how else I could have avoided this.

Mishka is super interested in my sun conure, so I try my best to keep him as far way as possible. If the dog got a hold of my parrot I'm not so sure I would be able to handle it. I've had my conure for 17 years... _________________ |

O wow! Ya I just had mine almost a year. Barbie would have turned 1 in june and Adele would have been 3 years in july. I don't know how I would have felt if I had them for 17 years. thats a long time to grow a lot of love for something.

Im sorry to hear about your chickens My sister in law raised chickens, and has 2 malamutes (HUGE, 120-130 lbs each). when they were chicks, the male mal ate my sis' favorite chick. so her mom bought another chick and they raised it. a year later the mom put all the chickens back in the coop but forgot my sis' favorite one - the replacement favorite - outside when she let the mals out and the male got the chicken again. sometimes even if we're careful accidents happen. im sorry again about your chickens
