Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

What does this mean? Evie does it all the time, especially when you're sitting on the floor and in play when she's excited or rough-housing. She'll bring me a toy and spin around real fast peeking over her shoulder. And if she's not aligned just right, she scooches a bit right or left and backs up right in your face. It's funny and kinda disturbing LOL! I always kid with my husband that she wants him to sniff her butt like other dogs.

I've read that it's the dog's way of showing submissiveness, but I don't know. Do your dogs do this or is mine extra "special?" I don't know what she wants from me when she does this or what I'm supposed to do

Paw Paw does this because he wants you to scratch his thighs. He'll turn around and back up to us, and I'll put a hand on each hind leg up near the top and start scratching and rubbing and massaging. He loves it. It's his favorite spot to receive love. And if I'm doing it wrong, he'll turn his upper body around in a "U" and nip my hand as a signal saying "that's not the right spot!" But that's all it is. He just wants his "butt" rubbed. He's probably sore from exercise and is forcing or requesting a massage. I don't mind giving him one.

Aw, Paw Paw sound like such a love. I don't think that's what Evie's doing. Her spot is her inner thigh and she collapses on her back and lifts her leg like a perv to get that scratched. I thought maybe she wanted her butt scratched by her tail or something, but if we touch her she spins in a circle and pounces around like a fool. Then we play and 2 seconds later she does it again. She's a freak...

Luka does that all the time! She likes her thighs and butt rubbed. If you are not itching the right spot she'll woo at you and back her butt into you again. She has even sat on my boyfriends head a few times when he's refused to give her a morning rub. I think its funny, but its kind of embarrassing when new people come over!
