| So, kids and hubby are out of town so took the girls walking by myself for the first time. That was fun. Zelda had never been on a leash in her life until 2 weeks ago, and Vixen...well, we will just say she is a slow learner. So anyway, after 15 minutes of having my legs tied up, my arms pulled in different directions and tripping 19 times I decided to hold both leashes in ONE hand. Voila! Now they wrapped their leashes around eachother and essentially harnessed themselves snugly, side by side, forcing them to walk in unison, and any pulling was directed towards eachother, rather than my arm. Rather sad how happy I am to have outsmarted two puppies... |

| My pups tend to do this, but I wear my walking belt. Still its nice when they tie their leashes together because then when Yuki tries to go off and chase a leaf Cloud is always plodding along keeping her on track. |

| Id be wary of this. Managing is great for relieving your stress, but does nothing to solve the problem of not knowing how to walk on a loose lead. Your dogs will still not understand what is expected of them when they are alone. Its very important that you are consistent in what you expect from them. They dont know who theyre pulling against, just because it doesnt inconvenience you. |

It was a temporary solution to a problem, lol, not my planned method of training. We have only had Zelda a few weeks, and she was too sick to walk before, so this is only her 3rd. Or 4th time on a leash. As for Vixen, she is just a silly pup still. We are working with both of them. Yesterday it was just a matter of getting them some exercise without getting killed! |
