These are some videos I took yesterday morning on our walk. This is pretty typical for a weekend morning.

Wow, Jen - the off leash is really impressive! I assume he has his educator on? And what a lot of dogs for him to play with! When we go to the dog park, we are lucky if there is 1 other dog - let alone a flotilla!
Totally off subject - when will you be moving to the new apt?

Still not sure yet, but progress is arduously happening...
Yes, he's wearing the educator. The vibrate has morphed into a non-verbal recall command. I almost never use the shock, only if he starts to bully or chase a little dog and doesn't respond to a verbal recall, but he responds extremely well to his "off" command. It's nice to see him maturing and growing a brain finally.

His brain sounds like Ami - I seriously have no idea why the vibrat works so well. I've been using it to keep Archer off the pool cover and it works like magic!
Glad to hear you're making progress. Would be nice to be in the new digs by Christmas, no?

Ha ha. It would be nice, but we'll see what happens... We still need to redo the kitchen before we move in and lord knows how long that will take.

Ohhhh...good luck with that. My experience with contractors Sister says take the time estimated, double it then take the sum to the 8th exponent, then cross your fingers.

Took some new pix of my bud this morning. He's maturing quite nicely, but is still my goofy buddy. I'm learning light room a little better and really having fun with it, today I learned how to do watermarks.

Jen - I love the last picture...all are beautiful though. Diz has a nice, rugged "manly" chest, doesn't he? Maybe make up a few of these in black and white, frame them for your new home?

Beautiful pictures, Jenny! I love the one of him on the rock and the one of him trotting towards the camera with the fall colors behind him. <3

Ah, fall in the city. And it's accented even more now by a handsome Husky! Nice shots! Mr. Diz looks fluffy and happy.

Thank you. I want to get some action shots of him running and chasing his pals, but they are always blurey. I can't seem to get the settings figured out for that yet. Any tips?

High ISO and a open aperture (f stop).
So your ideal settings would be 400ISO, f/2.0, shutter to be higher than 1/60 of a second. What mode do you shoot in?

Usually the P mode or manual. If I get frustrated I switch to the sports scene mode

Aperture Priority is my favorite mode. I find it easier to manipulate to the settings you want. I don't shoot in manual when trying to capture faster modes because there's too much fiddling until you really find your way around the controls and settings.

I'm assuming you stick with auto focus for running shots. Which setting do you use?

Oh yeah. I don't even try to use manual focus. Shooting in burst also helps.
I tend to shoot in AP with a wide open f-stop (like 2.0-3.5 depending on the lens) and usually have my ISO up to 400 unless it's really bright or darker then adjust accordingly.

Aren't there a couple of different options for auto focus? Al servo vs. something else?

Yeah. I'm not sure what mode I use. AI Servo is best for moving objects as it refocuses on your subject each time you hold the shutter half way down. One Shot focuses and holds that same focus point as long as you keep the shutter pressed half way. And the other one is like a mix of the two.
