| We recently got a Siberian Husky puppy. She is now 10 weeks old. We are having serious issues with her pooping in her crate. She will pee outside no problem but rarely poops outside. Then she will poop in her kennel overnight and roll around in it. During the day she is in the kennel for about 3.5hrs and then I let her out on my lunch break. I let her run around the backyard for 30 mins before going back to work. When we get home from work, there is always a mess of poop. The breeder had her in a larger kennel, and seemed to have no accidents. What can we do to fix this problem? I've heard that Siberians are a stubborn breed, but I didn't think it would be this bad! We have tried regulating her diet and only feeding her at 6am and no later than 6pm to see if that would help and it hasn't. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! |

| I would just be consistent in praising her, especially when she poops, outside. Get a VERY high value treat that she only gets if she poops outside, and praise her lots. Hope this helps a bit, and that others chime in. |

| Is there any way you can extend your lunch break even for 15 minutes? Pups tend to need to go poop soon after running around and being excited, and I suspect that 30 minutes is just the right length of time for her to get excited enough to need to poop 10 minutes later. |

| They do have to poo after running around a lot- it's always a race with us to catch Korra mid-zoomies or she'll just squat and poo... Has she been dewormed? |

| We had the same issue with Mya when she was younger. I would come home during lunch and there was no mess, but when I would get home after work...HORRIBLE. How about letting her run and play for 15min and then taking her on a walk to see if she poops? |

| What worked for us was the divider that came with our crate. We have a 42" crate and we put the divider closer to the front, giving him a smaller area. As he got bigger, we moved the divider. His natural "don't poop where I sleep" instincts kicked in and he's never pooped in his crate. Good luck with whatever way you do it! |

| We had issues at first but deworming really solved most of it. Having a crate divider works wonders too |

| I agree with walking instead of letting the pup run around. Kennedy is two years old and she REFUSES to poop before she walks, even if it is just across the street. Don't know why, but she has always been this way. She knows to pee on command, but poop?... Nope she's gotta walk. |

| not a solution but may give your pup an opportunity NOT so soil her crate, if you have a side gate angle the crate into a corner with an easy clean surface with the gate open creating a small space where the pup may poop, you may have to cover the space with ply wood to prevent escape.
also to reduce the night soiling try not to feed after 5pm and try and give a short walk on the lead (off the lead in an enclosure ours just starting playing and running around) @ 10:30/11:00 pm, of course your schedule may not suit.
for daytime is there any daycare service or dog walking service or family member than can pop into break up the duration for a few weeks |

| Are you using Natures Miracle or something similar to clean up her accidents? |

| I'm having the SAME problem. Except my dad watches him during the day, so I don't have the daily problem, however, every night.. I walk him and let him out around 11pm, then again at twelve, which is usually when I'm going to sleep, by 2am he's pooped EVERYWHERE and it's all over him.
I'm going to try and make his crate smaller tonight and see if that helps! How is yours coming along? |
