This has been a very hard week here. As most of you know I was having some very bad allergies since we brought Peaches home. I ended up going to the Dr Monday morning because I broke out in hives. We did some testing and it turned out that I am in fact allergic to Peaches.

I got a couple shots in the rear and ended up in the ER because of a reaction. I am already on 2 allergy pills and a nasal spray and since the shots didn't work out there was nothing else we can do, short of shoving Peaches outside to live alone chained in the yard.

Needless to say we did not want to do that to her. It wouldn't be a fun or fair life for her. I talked with Kathy (the lady we got her from), she and her family agreed to take Peaches back. They are going to keep her and make her a part of their family and their husky sled team. They are friends of ours so we will be able to hear about, see pictures and visit Peaches as much as we would like. They live about 45 minutes from here so that isn't to far.

No, it's not what we wanted and it isn't ideal but in the end we had to do what was best for my health and what was best for Peaches. We are all very upset and it was very hard to return her but in the end we know that it is the right thing to do.

I got a message from Kathy this morning, telling me about their night and morning with Peaches (she has been wondering about keeping in touch). She had some wonderful news as well. They found Ava! She was found about 1.5 miles from their house, she is thin and smells of skunk but he is safe and unhurt. THANK GOD!

I am so sorry that you had to make a decision like this, but at least you know she is somewhere safe and she will be loved. I hope everything works out for you and for Peaches . It's also a plus you can see her whenever you want to!

And that is SOO good that they found her safe and sound!

Thank you! We miss her furry little face so much but we are happy to know that she is with friends and that we will always be apart of her life. That makes things so much easier for all of us. It's not what we really wanted but it is a lot better than never seeing her again.

So sorry you had to give her up. But at least they don't live too far away and you can go visit.

Thank you! I think things will be fine, we will be co-owners of Peaches and my daughter will get to spend as much time with her as she wants. Not the same as having her in our home but it's better than no contact at all.

Aww so sorry to hear that but as you and many have said she is at least in a home you trust and is safe. Good thing you'll still be able to see her grow!

I am so sorry to hear this. It had to be very hard to make that decision. I am very happy your daughter can see her and she will stay with that family...I am sure that helps a little

Sorry to hear this, it is so hard to give up a pet but at least you know she will be well taken care of.

I'm sorry to hear that it was Peaches. I know it must have been very hard for you and your daughter - I"m glad the family is close so you can see her.

Hope you are doing okay - reactions to medicines are never easy to go though either on top of it all.

So sorry you had to do that. Its odd as most people with pet allergies to cats, dogs, small animals tend to be ok with huskies. At least you still get to see her and I'm glad ur friend got her husky back as well.

I'm sorry to hear this, I was really hoping you were having problems from some other easy to treat allergy. At least you won't be far from Peaches.

Kelli I'm sorry for the news but admire your responsibility to your health. It was great getting to chat with you and get to know Peaches.

Thank you all so much! I spoke with Kathy again today, Peaches is doing great. We are going to go see her tomorrow, if we don't get the butt load of snow they are calling for. So nice to know she is safe, with a good family and that we will be able to see her as often as we want.

I am feeling so much better, still feel guilty for not being able to keep Peaches. My daughter is doing well, she said she understands and that my health comes first. I'll keep in touch and post pictures from time to time.
