2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.

Squinting in the sun Empty
PostSubject: Squinting in the sun   Squinting in the sun EmptyThu Mar 21, 2013 2:00 pm

So I've noticed that Khloe's blue eye must be sensitive to the sun.
She will walk/run around with it all squinty. Her other eye is a green-brown, and she has no problem with it.
In the house or in the shade she opens it with no problem.
The blue eye leaks a fluid almost daily.

Has anyone else ever had this problem or may know of what it could be?
She has a vet appointment for a check up in the next few days.

At first I thought maybe she got some dirt or something in it, but I've cleaned and looked at it and I didn't see anything.
Now I just noticed the squinting...and I feel like it really bothers her. Sad

I've been researching the common eye defects in Sibes, and now i'm nervous.

Blue eyes are more sensitive to the sun, blue eyed people squint in the sun more too. Both my girls do it. The less pigmentation makes more sun come into their eyes, or something along those lines. Smile

Zoey is the only one of mine that does it, I think it's the liver pigment around the eye, her lighter color and then of course the blue eyes

Thank you for the responses.
I figured that would be it, but I just wasn't sure.
Kato has brown eyes, and Karma has a brown and a parti eye, so this is new to me.
I just feel bad that she has to squint.

Kerian squints all the time even in doors. She has the lighter blue eyes.. She looks like she is winking at you half the time. . When I first notice it I thought it was just one of her eyes but it is both eyes. I think she sees with one eye at a time and is not using them together. But what do I know.. Her eyes have a lot of sleep or stuff in them I think she has seasonal allergies like most people in Oklahoma.

Jennifer-ooh they have doggie sunglasses? Where can I buy them? I'm not sure though that Khloe would wear them.

Linda-I thought the same about Khloe only seeing out of one eye. I even thought about her being blind in her blue eye.
