Balding while blowing coat? HELP! Empty
PostSubject: Balding while blowing coat? HELP!   Balding while blowing coat? HELP! EmptyTue Jun 18, 2013 11:14 pm

Hey everyone!

So Baron and I just move to Seattle from Florida and he is experiencing his first winter coat she being 1 year old this past month.

During this however he developed a bald patch above his left eye, then one on his right lip and then a huge tuft of hair came our on his neck.  All the spots are normal looking.  No pus, no inflammation, no itching but I'm worried.

We just got here and are looking for a solid competent vet but thus far haven't had any luck.  It also looks like the cheapest first time visit I'm going to get here is near $100 which after moving isn't feasible for at least a few paychecks.

Some reading makes me think it's possibly hot spots.  He doesn't have a single flea and is on his monthly heart worm trifexis meds for intestinal junk.

Wondering if anyone has had this experience?

All the spots are pictured below

Hmm. My Baron had something like that around his face once, when he was about 4 months. I put a anti-allergy cream on it and I'm not sure if it helped or not really, but the spot went away within a couple weeks. I wonder if maybe it's some sort of allergy, and that's why it's shown up in multiple spots on your pup? It also seems it could be stress induced from the move. Is there any out of the ordinary behavior that's gone along with it?

Stark had developed a few bald patches on random spots on his body - turns out it was Demodex. Unfortunately, the only way to say if it really is or not is to go to a vet and do a skin scraping...

I know you guys are out in Seattle but there's a vet here on whidbey that only charges $54 for an initial visit. You could see him just til you find one you like up there.

Sorry I don't know about the spots, Karli is just starting her first blow.

He was super aggravated with being home alone after the move for about a week in the new place. About a month ago now. He would howl bloody murder until i came home which has since subsided. Looking at it today hair is definitely growing back and looking better everyday. But I guess even if it does all grow back I'm wondering what it could be
