Many of you helped me with great advice and recommendations for a good jogging/hiking hands-free belt. I finally pulled the trigger on a Nordykn "HB1" mushers/hiking/jogging type belt. I figured i would give it a review.

i ordered the belt and had it special sized and it came to me no less than 5 days later. The belt is very well padded and has two rings on either side to clip a line or leash. the buckle is plastic but its so friggin thick and industrial sized that i highly doubt it will ever break while i own it. The materials are tough as are the attached rings and the sewing looks to be very well done.

Id say the only downside is that it is not lightweight -which i don't care about as long as it holds up. Also the size adjuster allows you to make it from 30' to 54' which is great but that means you have extra length flapping around if you have it at a smaller size. I will probably fix this with some simple adhesive Velcro . Unfortunately I will have to wait to test it out as Kiba was just spayed on Friday. Once we're able to start walking again ill try to update this with my new hands-free walking experience.

I'll add a few pictures of it in a couple hours. The photos on Nordykns site aren't the best so i wasn't totally sure what it was going to look like until it arrived.

you can see the buckle is plastic but its a super industrial type of buckle so im not worried about it

This last picture is to show what i mean about the size adjustment straps kind of flapping around. I think i can fix it so they wont bounce all over while i'm running but if you don't have iall the way out at 54' then you may have this issue

I'm looking forward to the pictures. I've been looking to upgrade from my Cardio Canine, but as you mentioned it's hard to find good pictures out there.

okay posted a few pictures. just a side note the whole outside of the belt is black and the inside of the padding is blue. I'm pretty sure they only come in black. There was an option to have the rings on the front but i prefer them on the side.

That looks great! I like the buckle....it seems very convenient to put on and off.

How is the padding? Does it feel like it will be comfortable going long distances?


Also, did you buy their leashes to go with it? If not how will you attach yours to the d-rings?

well i can only base this off of how it feels without running because it will be a bit before she's old enough to really do some seriously jogging but id say yes it seems very comfortable. no complaints on that end. i would only question how heavy it is in comparison to a similar belt (like the Alpine Outfitters one). The heavy duty materials used make me feel like it will never break but if you are irritated by carrying a pound or two extra while jogging then it may bother you in that regard.

I haven't bought any nordkyn product to go with it. I haven't made up my mind 100% what to go with. in the meantime ive just got a regular leash with a carabiner clip to attach to the rings ( i know its gehtto lol) . I'll probably end up with something that has a "traffic handle" and a bit of shock absorption.
