| I work for a vet in Johnson City, Tennessee and in the past 3 weeks we have seen 13 cases, only 3 were willing to do treatment (of which 2 lived) and the rest were put down. I know spring is parvo season, but I dont remember it being this bad? Just wondering if anyone else is seeing it in their area. |

| We had it recently here in WA, it started at one of the dog shows and caused a lot of people (including me) not to go to the next show. There was also a case at our local shelter a couple months back and we couldn't walk the dogs for about two weeks til they got out of quarantine. - Quote :

I'd be very cautious. I have a breeder friend (she breeds and shows Danes) who didn't go to that show because of the risk of parvo. Better safe than sorry I guess. |

| My neighbors across the street recently lost a puppy to parvo. Then they went out and got another and lost it too. I guess they didn't know that it would stay in their yard - I just always assume it's out there and take precautions everywhere. |

| The best way to prevent Parvo is to keep your dog healthy and protected. We titer to make sure antibodies are present. |

| Parvo is more seasonal here in NorCal. I'd say that we'll start to see more cases when the weather gets warmer, within the next few weeks probably. Non yet this year (knock on wood). |

| In NY state we have noticed a lot more Parvo, even had a couple rescues we know locally that got Parvo puppies. I guess there is a HUGE outbreak in the south right now, so Rescue Groups that pull dogs from the south to save them from Kill Lists, are ending up with a lot of Parvo.
Even had one Rescue Group that was Lied To by a southern shelter staff that said puppies had their vaccines when they didn't have any, and had 11 puppies die, some already adopted, and 1 survived.
Its pretty awful, even got our local Petco considering a halt to the rescue program where they have rescues bring in pets for adoption like 1-2 times a week. |
