Just started to feed sibe in raw food 2 months ago, at the moment they are on just less than 80% of frozen assorted chicken portion with bones (quarters, tights, drumstick) + 5% of lamb heart, 5% lamb liver, 5%lamb kidney. Sometimes would have blueberries, marrow bones as snack.
They used to have Acana or Orijen dry pet food.

Right, one of them real picky on what he eats, no liver, kidney or heart. No matter it is raw, semi-cooked or cooked, pan fried. He just don't eat. Slightly better on chicken, he might just eat one or maybe two (rare to see him eat 2) pieces of chicken portion. But, if I feed him frozen beef+pork mince, he has no problem with it and will finish 1kilo ASAP. (He resists to raw egg + fresh beef mince + soft cheese mix)

Some of his teeth are worn down, pulp is explose, but vet said it is ok at the moment. One of the benefit feeding raw is having a whiter, clearer teeth.

Now I have dilemma with his appetite.

1: If I mince the chicken portion, heart, liver, kidney together to blend it together? Would that still put him off because of the smell from liver and kidney?

Or what can I do to get him eat more? apart from offering the mince?

You can try mixing it, sometimes it works and other times a dog will turn its nose up at it.

Will the dog eat freeze dried organs as an alternative?

I haven't tried the frozen organs. I will tried both (blend, frozen) next time.

In this case, is that means the cleaning teeth function will lost if I feed him in mince meat?

Try cracking an egg and coating anything he doesn't like in the egg. Bella LOVES egg and will lick her bowl for an hour straight if I give her an egg.

Freeze dried is not the same as frozen. Look it up if you are unfamiliar with freeze dried organ meat.


Yes you lose the benefit of dental care when feeding a minced meat mixture, however you don't need to feed organs in every meal. Some people feed the organ once a week. Even feeding raw bone-in meat at least once a week will provide good dental care.

The first couple times I gave Varu liver he took in his mouth then spat it out. After giving him some beef liver jerky (home made in the oven) he will now eat beef liver raw or dried. You could try drying a small piece to see if he will it eat.

Mahlee wont eat lamb or any organs.

Nikko won't touch organs unless they are frozen. It's kinda funny. So that's one thing to try.

I've never given him lamb liver just chicken and beef. He likes lamb meat though heh.

To make jerky just cut the liver/meat into thin peices (any size as fine as long as it is thin) and place in the oven on the lowest setting (I think mine goes down to 165d). tI'll take several hours to dry out, just check it periodically after the first couple hours. You'll know when it is is somewhat hard on the outside, fairly stiff but not brittle. I use a baking sheet on the rack below to catch the drippings so I don't make a huge mess of my oven.

A lot of people also use a food dehydrator to make their own jerky at home.

I have found my dogs ll eat the natural mix, from blue ridge beef without issue. It has organs. Otherwise, mine will only eat freeze dried or dehydrated liver and organs.

None of mine will touch raw liver but they all love hearts and gizzards.

With Lou I found feeding his minces with offal in, frozen helped and also any offal that I gave in his whole form frozen. Now he eats it frozen or not. The pup - she's like a dustbin and just has anything.
