| I think either head on railing or sitting next to snowman! Both are really cute! |

| Ah! LOVE these!
Link is always gorgeous, but he looks especially so in the snow. He really is a favorite of mine. He has such a great face.
Love the working class snowman too! |

| Aww thanks Katie. The snowman was so fun, and watching him tackle it down was even better. |

| A trip to the mountains to play in the snow at the very least, and hopefully his Husky buddies can come too. |

| Link got his first birthday present last night from his brother from another mother. The best gift imaginable. Such perfect timing. He's become quite the little poster Husky for Ruffwear. I am so happy with their products. He's also currently wearing his nylon Hoopie collar but he was having none of the photo shoot. We just got back from a jog in the park and he's in a Husky ball on his bean bag. Birthday weekend! A trip to the mountains with Rhia and Korra is on deck. |

| Link's First Birthday Today!! All in all it was a good day. We had a hike planned with Rhia and Korra but we had to cancel it because my partner is really sick and I had to stick around to care for him in the morning. I felt bad because I was really looking forward to our day with the girls. That's just how life is I guess. When we got home Link and I watched the first 2 Lord of the Rings together on the sofa while he ate a pig ear and napped on me. Spoke to his breeder and got updates on his brothers and she was so excited about Link's growth and his health and his lifestyle with us. We talked about sledding and pulling quite a bit. I imagine Link to be a lead dog because he hates being behind people and dogs on hikes, but as it turns out his dad is a wheel dog and he is shaping up to be just like him physically, and with the personality of his mom. It is so wonderful to have her as an ongoing resource. Got some good pics of him sporting his new harness that he got from Dizzy and Jen for his birthday. He LOVED it. The ergonomics of it while jogging and him pulling ahead are really comfortable and very fluid. It was a successful first test run. We had so much fun out and about around the neighborhood today, even though it was brief in our unexpectedly condensed day. Birthday glamor shot in the morning. Lemme out, lemme out! Very focused and working, but ears tuned back to me Squirrel! |

| It's the Ruffwear Omnijore harness. It's fantastic. It comes with a springy towline and a human hip harness. |

| Happy birthday, Link! Sorry about the hike, but Lord of the Rings and a pigs ear sounds pretty awesome to me. I hope Patrick gets better quickly! _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Happy Birthday Link! He is such a handsome wee devil and he sure looks purposeful in that harness! Nothing more beautiful than the movement of a sibe on a mission lol |

| Purposeful is a great way to describe it.
I got to see him run in that dolphin-like, arching hop for the first time in it today and I was so inspired by it, so proud of my boy.
He ran across that field like his life depended on it.
Thanks Meredith, he made some progress. His fever is below 100 and so he is stabilizing from that at least. |

| Ah I remember the first time I saw Orion run like that. I was just in awe of the fluidity of his movement and how strong and determined he looked. That gait truly is power in motion. I can fully understand why you were proud |

| Happy belated birthday, Link! Glad to hear he had a great day. Hope your partner is feeling better now. What a bummer! Link looks awesome in his new harness. So cool to see him out and about in it! I know what you mean about that focused, working look and the look they get when they just take off running. I see that in Layla a lot already. My heart melts every time I say "hike" and we both start running fast through the snow together. She has this awesome look on her face when she runs, and she also keeps her ears back toward me. She's more submissive and mellow than a lot of other huskies I've met, but I also think she would make a great lead dog for the little team we will have in the coming years. |
