| Thanks! We had him on Purina All Life Stages/Working-Sporting Dogs kibble for the first 7-10 days as per the breeder's recommendation and feeding.
Now we have him on Northwest Naturals Raw Diet, a rotation of chicken, duck, and beef. It is a local Seattle area company and we buy it and everything for him at Mudbay Pet Stores. We have a bulk purchase on order that will be a month supply at a time. The transition from kibble to raw was seamless with him and we had no problems.
He also get probiotics every other day or so.
His treats are mostly salmon based, he eats a lot of dried sweet potatoes, homemade biscuits, and will on very rare occasion get kibble when we are in a time crunch and we need treats. We still have some left from our original purchase but once it is gone he won't get anymore. |

| We were sold on raw from day 1 of thinking about getting him. It was amazing how much better we felt once we switched, and I imagine him too. His poop is so small and efficient now |

Yup! You know, a free fall, bloody puppy, missing tooth, sprained tail, and vet visit later lol. Play date, success! |

| Just got home from Link's 3rd puppy class. Here are some noteworthy observations, in conjunction with some general out-and-about observations: -he does not do well with shy, timid puppies or dogs at all. He's way too "I'm a Husky puppy!!!!" with them. -he is a mouthy (in the verbal and physical sense both) puppy and he overwhelms puppies very easily (and their humans even more easily). Many people can't handle his style of play and communication and interpret it as aggressive or hostile, even though I know he is just a happy Husky -he very much gets give and take, especially with compromising older pups/dogs. He is not a bully, just a......Husky? -if a dominant, assertive dog is consistent with him, he takes it like a champ and has no problem backing down to the same dog consistently. My friend has a Vizsla, about 1.5 years, and Link routinely goes belly up, tail between the legs, and surrenders easily. This same Vizsla is a big time water/ball dog and they were playing and he jumped in a lake and Link followed him without hesitation. He loves swimming! Link's approach to fetch a ball seems to be "if you wanted it so bad why did you throw it in the first place?". BUT, he loves chasing Vizslas who love chasing balls -he excelled at the "obstacle game." A series of things like buckets, bouncy platforms, tin tubs, etc. were set out and the pups were supposed to get fully on top of them to get treats and praise. he was the only one who could do it -that said, he is in no way shy or timid or backs down easily and it takes a confident, consistent puppy/dog to get him to that point. The infamous Husky "not easily impressed by you, but impressionable nonetheless." -his recall is currently excellent at puppy class and off leash at the park. I'm very pleased with is focus on me and his trust in me. -The trainer at class asked me if he plays with Huskies a lot (Korra!). I said well, yes recently, and she said she could tell because he always wants to play like a Husky and versatility is not his strong suit. He does respond differently to puppies and older dogs though, with puppies being more easily intimidated by him. All in all he did great today and he did AWESOME with obedience on the bus ride home. I was very proud of him today |
