So I just got back from the vet with my puppeh, Cain, anyways turns out he was indeed not 3 months but rather 9 weeks old! On the downside he has roundworms but fear NOT for he has received medication and is scheduled for another vet check up in 3 weeks.

Well that solves the mystery of why he's so small, lol. Round worms are very common and easily treated. I'm sure he'll be fine.

Glad the mystery was solved! Remind me again, where did you get him and how did his age get so mistaken?

I guess it was my fault on my part for getting him from a breeder. I should have done a better job. but nonetheless his age was given to me by the breeder himself. Next time if there is one i'll probably just rescue one.

There's nothing wrong with getting a pup from a breeder, as long as they are responsible. There are plenty of threads on here about choosing a reputable breeder. Rescuing is also great though!

Also, did you take your pup to vet when you first got him? Because I'd be wary of any vet that didn't recognize that age mistake...

I got Balon, and now Loki from a breeder nothing wrong with that. My boys both have the same parents and they have been health checked and certified. That being said roundworms isn't cause for concern as long as you treat them. Balon had a bad case and after two rounds of panacur c he was fine!

Quick update and question.. So as i stated cain has roundworms, he is being treated with medication which is good! but just out of curiosity is it normal that recently he has been producing very very liquid-y stool? I mean when I took him out to do his business his stool basically shot out like a stream of water! Is this because the medication is doing its job in ridding the worms?

| What are you feeding him? I would check to see if that is one of side effects of the medication.

I'm just feeding him his regular food along with the medication which is two times a day. I'll call the vet tomorrow to confirm if it is a side effect

In my opinion its the worming meds. I'm no doctor so please call your vet in the morning to be sure, but anytime I have had to worm a pup they usually get runny, loose stools. I know Balon did. In fact Balon's roundworm infestation was so bad he threw up live worms, not to gross you out but he did. He pooped some out too, but those were always dead.

Yea this morning he pooped out one and it was clearly visible! but what im concerned about is that he is constantly having to go release his poop about every hour! i have to keep an eye on him! should i be concerned? How often did Balon go when he was dealing with the worms?
