Hello Everyone!

Happy Friday!!!

Two questions here-first, any Cincinnati husky owners? Would be great to know and get together!

Second, and more importantly, I'm in need of some rational thought and advice. Some of you may have read my posts before about my now 17 week old puppy Cash. I adore this dog but have had some times when I've been slightly overwhelmed, wanting to do what is best for him. He's been doing really well the last couple weeks! But I've been reading (on other sites, not here) about how dogs change so much at 5 months and become more aggressive and how their personalities change.
I love my baby's personality right now! He's definitely stubborn but so fun, playful, affectionate and plays well on his own (as long as I'm in the room). He's definitely full of energy, but more like he's busy then just straight running. Is this actually true? What have you all found out as your puppies mature?

Aggressive? No. He might become more independent and stubborn but it really depends on the individual dog.

Nunya doesn't have a stubborn bone in his body and he's 14 months, he loves to play and be goofy with people. Snoopy does too, but he's been getting more and more stubborn, at nine months now. He listens to me fairly well still, but he stares at my boyfriend with this blank look on his face lol

I wouldn't say become more aggressive. Onyx is 14 months and hasn't changed temperament or attitude yet. He is still as playful, stubborn, and calm as we was a pup, he may be more vocal now...lol but other than that it hasn't been a drastic change.

Neither of mine has ever changed temperament. Nikko is still hyper and goofy, and Yukon is laid back and lazy LOL.

Huskies are Huskies...very hyper and energetic!!
Mine never really matured...they have gotten older of course...but they still act like crazy pups!
As for them becoming more agressive...no not really. As Kato got older he realized he is alpha, and that's about it...but he would never hurt a fly.

Karli's six months old now and doesn't have an aggressive bone in her whole body. Very playful and maybe slightly more independent (but not a lot lol) but other than that no aggression at all.

You all have made me feel a lot better.... I've made the mistake of reading too much and makes me worry most times more than feel at ease lol I think I'm sticking with you all from now on. Thank you all!!!

Murphy went through a "teenager phase" where she argued with anything and everything, but she never became aggressive. Even if your dog has a more dominant personality (Like Murphy!), if you properly socialize him he should be just fine!

Can I ask a stupid question? When everyone says socialize.... that means just introducing him to new people and places, correct? We don't have an overly social family (no one really comes over, and we don't go out a whole lot) but I keep trying to make sure he knows the neighbors and friends and such.

You can socialize you're dog in many ways. Take him/her to the dog park, regular park, stores that allow dogs, pet stores, busy shopping centers, starbucks (sit outside), puppy play dates, drive thrus (food and bank) etc. There are so many ways to introduce new things to you're pup. I try to take mine to as many places as I can possibly think of!
