| Nunya doesn't shed, so all we have is a pin brush and a slicker. However, Snoopy is getting BAD. He can almost lay down and leave an imprint of himself on the carpet.
Being groomed isn't the issue, because he loves being brushed(unlike Nunya who screams bloody murder) and he's almost comfortable with letting me clip his nails, or at least submits to it haha
There are a lot of different tools, and I'm not sure which will be the most effective. What do you guys use? |

| All I have is a brush that's a slicker on one side and shedding rake on the other. I also have one that's similar to rubber curry comb (like one uses on a horse). Also nail clippers and hair scissors to trim the feet hair. |

| I have a greyhound comb, rotating comb, undercoat rake, nail file, two different nail clippers, a grooming glove, a curry comb and a pin brush w/ a bristle finish brush on the other side. _________________ |

| Is the curry comb effective? I've never used one on a fluffy dog before. |

| Well - I gave Bella a bath with it the other day and she's normally "OMG I HATE BATHS YOU'RE KILLING ME STOP IT STOP IT STOP IT!" screaming her little lungs out. With the curry comb she absolutely LOVED it. She loved it so much that when I went to take my shower yesterday evening she was laying in my tub looking for the water -_-. _________________ |

| I have a flea comb, a deshedding brush, which is laughably ineffective on Bella but still works on the cats, a normal bristle brush which gets little use, a regular slicker brush and the furminator which I love more than I care to admit. Bella has short, coarse hair and I use a light touch with the Furminator so no skin irritation and I'm not cutting off guard hairs. The slicker brush is really just to keep her fur from being way tangled and doesn't really remove much hair. |

| I've been thinking about investing in an undercoat rake of some sort. I'm not a fan of our furminator knock-off though, so I don't use it. Works good on the cats though haha I don't know if I'm using the slicker wrong or what, but it doesn't seem very effective. It fills up to fast and it doesn't get very deep down. |

| I've got a Slicker, a Shedding rake style comb, tons of hair combs, mat breakers, Clippers, shears, spray bottles of dematting conditioner, Tea tree oil shampoo, white dog shampoo, oatmeal shampoo, hypoallergenic shampoo, scissor style nail clippers, a dremmel for filing nails, ear cleaner and eye stain cleaner, cotton pads for ear and eye cleaning, and of course, Stiptic powder.
Basically, if you need it to get an Irish Water Spaniel (or any dog really) to show quality, it is in my groom bag. |

| Thanks guys!
I found a Kong curry comb for a decent price, so I'll be getting that when I can spare the cash. Along with some sort of undercoat rake, and then if those still don't suffice I'll look into getting some other tools too.
His shedding is getting worse, I think it's from the big fluctuations we've been having with our weather. Every time Snoopy walks past the couch he leaves clumps of static-y hair lol |
