Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Miami-Dade is a kill shelter. There's always a chance a rescue can pull her but I thought I'd share her story anyway.

She's going by the name Lady and she's such a beautiful girl. She's already been through this process before only to be adopted/neglected by a hoarder so now she's looking for a home again.

Spayed, 35 lbs, ~2 years old

I would take her right now but I don't have any of the information needed to prove I can have a dog at my apartment. Huskies aren't the problem, they're not banned from this complex. I just don't have the info needed to show I can have a dog at all.

Please share this with anyone you know who can help save her. Hopefully a rescue can pull her.

Can you go to the apartment complex office and have them print the approved breeds list or a permission slip? That's what I did when I rescued my sibe from a kill shelter that needed proof that I could have a husky. All I had to do was call the apartment complex office and ask them to print proof that I could own a husky there. They printed out the breed restriction list and told me to pick it up at my earliest convenience. So I picked it and drove down to the shelter and adopted my sibe.

As in anyone could adopt or you can't adopt if you live in an apartment?

Val, I'm actually floating under the radar right now. They know I have Callie, but I haven't been asked for the pet fee yet. I'm just trying to hold them off until my financial aid comes through. I could technically go get her and just be really pushing it.

Now that Kristina mentioned it, I went to check and they don't specify that if you rent, you need to show proof of pet fees and all that, just proof of address. I just might have to break the rules on this one.

As in all you need is a drivers license and money. They don't care about anything beyond that.

Yep. We said that we wanted to adopt the dog in "J6". They took my info and said to come back the following day after she was spayed. I paid the $65 and took Asia home.
