Hi Everyone,

My name is Lyndsey and I am proudly owned by two furry boys. Bear is a 1yr old pure bred Sibe and Rocky is a 1 yr old Sibe/Wolf. They are my boys, and BOY do they know how to test my patience.

Thank you in advance for any advice! Smile

Any suggestions on a husky that wont stop whining/barking/yipping when he gets overly excited? I cant seem to calm him down sometimes... He is still young so I know he has a ton of energy, but I am just becoming frustrated on how to calm him when this happens.

Hi there! Where are you in Florida? We have a Florida Husky/Mal meetup group in south Florida (Broward/Miami Dade county) and usually get quite the crowd Smile

Which one is the Husky/Wolf? They both look like Huskies in your avatar Smile

The best course of action really is to just completely ignore it. Dogs only do things that give them positive feedback, or sometimes any sort of feedback. The more you console or give even negative attention... The more they'll do it. If it's around other dogs (such as being a frustrated greeter) there is a behavioral plan called BAT which really is quite effective, i've used it with my Aussie.

Thank you for the feedback! I have been trying it but Bear is just a talker....

We are actually in North Florida, in St. Augustine Sad I would have loved to have such a great pack to play with! Most of the time, people at the parks up here look at me like I am an abuser for having huskies in Florida...

I was trying to upload more pictures but I can't figure out how?

The boy on the right in my avatar is my hybrid. Bear on the right, is a pure bred. We got Bear from Carmona Kennels out of Tampa area... he also runs a rescue. Rocky's mom was found tied to a tree pregnant, so Jose took her in, and a day later she gave birth to puppies. Rocky went to his first home that couldn't keep him, so he was about 5-6 months when we decided to go pick his little butt up and bring him into our home.
